Just Right for Fishermen!

My best friend and I stayed here. It's everything you need and nothing you don't. Great service too! I texted Patrick for a couple things and he came straight over. Nice fella too! The location is close to the pier and everything else you need. We will be back next year.

Perfect Beach Cottage

The Flat Top cottage was the perfect place for our week long vacation to the OBX. The living room furniture was comfortable and the king bed was amazing. I rarely sleep well the first couple of nights away from home, but I slept great from the first night to the last. The location of the cottage was great for our trips to Manteo, Hatteras, and Kill Devil Hills. The beach was a short walk with two public access points equal distance from the cottage. On our last night, we had dinner at the Dunes Restaurant, which we highly recommend. The food and service was exceptional! Plus, the restaurant is located behind the cottage - an easy walk.

Cozy Clean Cottage!

This cottage is adorable, incredibly clean, spacious for it's size and a quick walk to the beach. It was everything we wanted and more! We absolutely love the the cleanliness of the place and the continuous communication and care from the owners. We hope to be back again soon!

Lovely Cottage!

We had a wonderful stay at Patrick's cottage in Nags Head, it was perfect for my family of 3! Patrick communicated very well, and was a gracious host. We would love to stay again in the future.

The impression of the property was very sketchy at first. But, when we walked in... very beachy. The bathroom was a bit small, but we delt with it. The water pressure in the shower was like getting spinkled on. And the beds where extremely uncomfy. None of us slept well. If you require coffee. I suggest that you bring your own coffee pot. The walk to the beach was very short. Its right accross the street. I recomend bringing a wagon of sorts. The one thing that bothered me a bit... is there was people hanging out at the back of the property looking directly at our back door. So, everytime i went outside... i had soneone watching me/us. I do believe that the person next door did live there. And one of the days we were there, my husband went outside and the young ladies who were at the house next door hid their beers from our view??? Don't know y?? And we also witnessed a high speed chase involving someone pulling into the driveway that we shared. The gentleman got out of his car. Then pretended to talk on his cell phone as if he had been there a while. Not really sure if we will come back to this location. But, overall we did enjoy the beach alot. And all of the friendly people that we incountered along the way. I wish everyone in this world was as welcoming and as nice as the people in Nags Head.

The Dunes experience

Staying here was a pleasure the house was inviting and had everything that we needed. The house was clean and tidy! The decor was really great. Beds were comfortable and the furniture was nice and comfy. I would definitely stay here again.

Love this Classic Flat Roof Nags Head Cottage

This was exactly what I was looking for! My sister and I were looking for a quick get away for a couple of days and this old style flat roof cottage fit the bill perfectly. It was clean and cute and had all the amenities you could need for a beach get away. The property owners had great communication with me and the check in and check out process was easy. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Perfect April trip!

We had the best time at the flat top cottage, exactly as described, check in was easy and cottage had everything we needed for our weekend away! Beach access was close and convenient and we spent every minute we could flying kites and looking for shells! Close to everything, restaurants, mini golf, stores. For our family of 3, it was a perfect size! Loved the sun room at nights for board games and the beds were super firm and comfortable! Highly recommend and would 100% stay again! Very clean, everything was decorated nice, and it had everything we needed. Did lots of relaxing and found lots of shells! We didn't turn on the TV once during our stay, we were having so much fun spending time together. Thank you for letting us visit!

Nice older cottage, that was very clean! Location was great, right across the road from the beach and close to Jeanette’s pier. Several great places to eat within a very short walking distance which was good for use. You cannot see the beach but you can see the dunes when you walk around to the side of the house. For the price and the location I would definitely stay again!

Great Spot for our July 4th vacation

We planned a trip at the last minute and felt lucky that we found a place to stay - but it turned out to be way more than just lucky. The house was perfect for our stay, we loved the layout and feel - and the AC was cold in every room! We'll plan to be back when it is a bit cooler so we can enjoy the sweet front porch room!

Nags head stay

The house was nicer than the photos. Very clean. The host was responsive to our needs. Only down side was no washer and drier on site but there are laundry mats within a short drive. Otherwise they have most necessities you would need in a house. Very happy with our stay. Would stay there again.

The perfect getaway!

Not only is this place adorable, conveniently located, and super affordable for two people, we even managed to have a blast in the rain for 4 days. Patrick was there in minutes when we needed him (the door keypad batteries died - could happen to anyone!), and suggested great beach and dining spots while we had him (and accurately so since we were already very familiar with the area!). Just across the street from beach access, a 15 minute drive from the nearest lighthouse and my favorite beach, Coquina, and just over the bridge from Manteo to see The Lost Colony. We will definitely stay here again!

BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS

I have visted the outer banks over 50 times in the last 40 years and have stayed in every imaginable rental from2 bedrooms to 20, from Corolla to Hatteras We rented this VRBO on the basis there were no steps. (I am waiting on second knee replacement.) This property is advertised and so much more. CLEAN, well furnished, nicely decorated and easily accessible. Our host Patrick is the greatest. He had the heat and TV on when we arrived and was very accommodating about extending our stay. Cant wait to go back and stay at the Flat Top. Nick S Claysville, PA

Very uncomfortable stay

I'm not sure how this rental keeps getting good reviews!! My husband and I stayed here last week for our anniversary and we're less than impressed with the house. On our second night, the biggest cockroach I've ever seen came across the living room wall. We sent a picture to the property owner, who downplayed the matter asked if we wanted him to come spray! Shouldn't that go without saying?!? There is mold all over the ceiling of the bedrooms and bathroom. I understand that it is a damp environment and this will happen, but it appears that no effort was made to clean in between rentals. The location, just behind a restaurant, is very close to the dumpsters for said restaurant. Not too big of a deal until the winds pick up and the smell of seafood that has been steaming in the dumpsters all day is sent your way. The beds in each bedroom are about as soft and forgiving as a concrete floor. Speaking of the beds, one of the sheets and one of the blankets still had blood stains visible. If you plan to stay here anytime soon, know that the house next door is under construction. Typically not a big deal, but a section of the Tyvek home wrap has come loose, and even with the slightest breeze can be heard inside the home. We had the TV volume at max and still could hear it whipping outside. Lastly, and we just noticed this when we re-read the property description, we were never offered the $25 restaurant gift card that the description offers, so I guess you have to ask for it? Overall, we enjoyed our time at the outer banks, and will certainly return, just not to this rental!!

Relaxing in Pristine Condition

We had a great stay being here. The house was even better then the pictures.The place is kept very clean, and the pictures don’t do justice how nice the ceiling is. I love how it’s decorated. The home is close to everything. Kitty hawk, jockies ridge, manteo, tons of restaurants and shopping. Not to mention it’s right across the street from the beach. Awesome place to stay.

Excellent little cottage

Great location , had a wonderful experience and enjoyed staying at the cottage. Perfect size place for singles, couples and empty nesters looking for a quiet, comfortable place close to everything. Our only issue which was not a big deal was the listing included washer and dryer. Luckily we brought plenty of things to wear.

I am the middle son of the Pritchard family. Mom is a true Native to the Outer Banks with roots down the beach as far as 1749 Pop said. Dad is from Elizabeth City about an hour away and grew up vacationing on the beach. They bought the Dunes restaurant and the duplex property in 1982. Dad was a banker who wanted a change with two small boys, 3 and 1 and a little girl on the way, he thought this would be a way to get ahead. 35 years later we are still at it at the Dunes and our other pride and joy Grits Grill, a breakfast and lunch spot two, miles up the road.

So we redid one side of the duplex and saw that it was getting some rents after we put it in the VRBO program, so we did this side also. They are cool property's for couples of small family's.

I grew up at the north end of Roanoke Island, where the Lost Colony settled back in 1587. Had a great child hood on the Outer Banks. There is so much to do. Hunting, fishing, boating, 4 wheeler s, chasing girls, beach time, summer jobs, winter breaks. We were always involved in school programs as well as church stuff. One of my favorite hobbies is golf which I picked up at 16 but was able to get good quick. Still love to play just don't get the time. Went to a small school of Campbell University where is spent 4 and 1/2 years to get a Business Degree. Moved to Atlanta to work for a race marketing company and then a golf company before moving back to the OBX to work for the family running Grits Grill and then back to the Dunes where I am today. I live close by with my best friend, a 10 year old Black Lab, Sam. We hope you choose our spot to visit the Outer Banks.
