My wife and I came in to Florence by train from Venice. It was a short walk from the train station to the apartment and where we were greeted by Carla who had been in communication via text message and was waiting outside for us. Carla was very gracious and helpful, making sure we knew everything we needed to know about the apartment, the neighborhood, where to take the garbage, sightseeing options, etc. There were no unpleasant surprises with this place, (other than a slight moldy smell coming from the outside rooftop, but it is an old building) it was comfortable and clean, plenty of room for the two of us and had everything we needed for our stay. There is no clothes dryer, but we hung our wet laundry in the traditional method to dry which I enjoyed doing. It seems very safe and secure and we enjoyed the experience overall.
The apartment is VERY conveniently located, right around the corner from the Duomo and very close to the fantastic Mercado which is a huge resource for great food, shopping and just a good hangout. All the major sightseeing objectives are within easy walking distance and Carla gave us some good advice about areas to find good restaurants which were outside the main tourist area frequented by locals.
Carla was extremely helpful, going out of her way to give us with ideas when it came to an out of town excursion. We were thinking of trying to get up to Cinque Terre area but opted for an early train to Rome for a whirlwind visit.
The bathroom was narrow but functional and the apartment had plenty of closet and drawer space. The bed was comfortable and we both slept very well. The apartment is on the 3rd floor (floor 2) so if you don't like climbing stairs this isn't for you. We didn't mind it at all, in fact I felt safer being upstairs and it was nice and quiet. We had no issues during our stay.
All in all I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit Florence. Outstanding location, comfortable, convenient and safe. We would definitely stay here in the future!
