Town: Pokesdown is a small village, which lies just east of Boscombe and west of Southbourne, and is bustling with bars and eateries for all tastes and budgets, including; a seafood restaurant, fish and chips, a tapas bar, a bakery, a microbrewery, cafes, takeaways, pubs and sports bars, as well as plenty of shops to explore and grab any essentials you may need during your stay. There is also a train station, two lovely golf courses nearby, a skate park and the Vitality Stadium, which is the home ground for AFC Bournemouth. Within a short drive, you can enjoy the gorgeous sandy beach at Boscombe with its restored Victorian pier, or head a little further along the coast the Bournemouth beach and pier, where you will find an amusement arcade and boat trips along the coast. In the opposite direction, you can head to Christchurch where there is ruins of the castle and the 12th century, riverside house with a rare Norman chimney.
