The Neighborhood:
Urbanización Las Mimosas is a highly regarded residential community located in La Cala de Mijas, on the Costa del Sol. It is especially valued for its prime frontline beach location, allowing residents to enjoy the sea and the seaside promenade just steps from their home. At the same time, it is within easy walking distance of the center of La Cala, where you will find restaurants, cafés, supermarkets, and all essential services.
The development is a gated and well-maintained community with attractive landscaped gardens that create a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere. It features a communal swimming pool and inviting outdoor areas designed for relaxation, making it an excellent choice both as a permanent residence and as a holiday or rental property.
Getting Around:
If you’re on foot, La Cala de Mijas is very walkable. Calle Narciso is centrally located in the town, so you can easily reach beaches, cafés, shops and restaurants by walking within a few minutes.
For public transport, the main way to travel around La Cala and to nearby towns is by bus. Regular bus services operated by the Málaga Metropolitan Transport Consortium connect La Cala with Fuengirola, Marbella, Málaga and other nearby towns. Several lines pass close to La Cala de Mijas, with stops near the centre and along the coast — you can check up-to-date timetables using local apps like Moovit or at bus stops directly.
If you want to travel along the Costa del Sol, there are frequent buses between La Cala de Mijas, Fuengirola and Marbella. These are affordable and reliable options if you prefer not to rent a car.
