As an agency we use all our organization to continuously improve our service and the nice apts we manage. Any issue would be systematically acted upon. The area is very lively. Most of our guests choose this apt for this reason. Actually, most of the guests appreciate the location. They rarely complain about the consequence of the liveliness. This location is not for guest who are looking for perfect calm. You have stayed during a period when the temperature was very hot. People get out more and stay out late. We manage many apts that are located in very calm locations. We will be happy to recommend specific ones for your next stay. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience regarding the key not being in the safe box, it normally never happens. We fortunately solved the situation very quickly and brought you another set of keys around 40mn after you informed us. Sorry also about the confusion around the pullout couch: We checked the listing description and it is well advertised for 2 and there is no mention of a pullout couch. The confusion maybe comes from our email exchanges when we asked for bed setting. It is a generic mail asking for the bed setting depending on the apt you rented, some apts we manage have 2 or 3 bedrooms and/or pullout couches. As far as the neighbourhood, it is lively and safe. Rue Saint Denis used to be a famous place for prostitution.. It has completely changed in the last 20 yaers and has become a trendy location. Some off the "ancient " prostitutes are still hanging in some place. The place is safe and no guest ever had a problem. Let us consider it as an heritage of the past. Sensitive guest may chose another location. The terrace (patio) of the apt was in process of being renewed. Sorry about this, we should have informed in advance. we will do our best next time. Hi Deborah, Thanks for your review. This is the first time such a misunderstanding happens, this apartment is not advertised as having air conditioning. In Paris air conditioning is very rare. To install one you need to get the city and the building owners authorisation. It is very hard to obtain. Heat waves are also very rare. Our intention was not to be unpleasant on the phone but to explain that in Paris using fans, closing the curtains or shutters, and opening the windows to create a slight breeze is the only way to do in case of a heatwave. Maybe because we are not English-speaking our turn of phrase seemed inappropriate. We are sorry. Sincerely, Paul

Let us explain how we handle issues when an unexpected problem like “works in the building” happens. The owner informed us that some works were planned in the building (not in the apt). The planning of works was done after your initial booking. Your stay was planned 2 weeks later. It was unexpected. The works would probably be noisy. Therefore, we immediately proposed an upgrade with no extra charge in a different apt. This apt was not being advertised on the site (not all the apt we manage are). We had to sign a new lease agreement. We understand it was a little extra paperwork. Unfortunately we have to follow the French law. We hope benefiting from a nice and calm apt during your stay was worth signing a new contract. We believe we were proactive and managed to find a good solution to this unexpected problem.
