Regarding the apartment size, it is clearly indicated in the listing but we understand that it may feel small if you’re used to more spacious accommodations. It reflects typical Parisian standards and is generally well-suited for families of 3 to 4 people. Do not hesitate to ask us for a bigger apartment for a future stay. We’re very sorry about the cleanliness issue you encountered. This is not the level of service we aim to provide, and we have already addressed this with our cleaning team. Please don’t hesitate to reach out during your stay in the future — we would have gladly arranged for a re-cleaning right away. As for the noise, the Latin Quarter is indeed a vibrant area with students and visitors, especially in the evenings. That said, the double-glazed windows and curtains are designed to help reduce outside noise as much as possible. Regarding the stairs, there is an important historical context worth mentioning. The apartment is located in the Latin Quarter, one of the oldest and most central areas of Paris. Many buildings in this neighborhood were constructed centuries ago with narrow staircases typical of that era. When elevators were later invented, there simply was not enough space in many of these historic buildings to install them. While the stairs can feel steep, they are very much part of the authentic charm and history of old Parisian architecture. We also appreciate your comments regarding the lively student bars below. As you mentioned, the area is energetic but typically settles down around midnight, and we’re happy the windows and drapes helped reduce the noise during your stay. The lively cafés and street life are truly part of the Paris experience. We would also like to clarify that there is indeed a washer and dryer available in the laundry room on the first floor of the building. Access details are included in the apartment instructions, and guests are always welcome to contact us during their stay if they need assistance. Regarding the nearby construction, unfortunately this is outside of our control. However, work begins at 9am, which remains a relatively reasonable hour in a lively central neighborhood, and many guests are already out enjoying Paris and sightseeing by that time. In addition, most days involve only light activity, with heavier and noisier work occurring only occasionally. Thank you again for your feedback. Many buildings, including this one, were built centuries ago with narrow staircases. When elevators were invented later, there simply wasn’t enough space to add one. Parisians are used to it and often see it as part of the charm of living in a historic building. We wouldn’t recommend this kind of apartment to anyone needing or preferring an elevator; more recent buildings in Paris do have them.
