Great lake home in a great location

This lakeside home was both comfortable and accommodating. Plenty of space in each bedroom, cookware, gas grill, outdoor dining table on deck, great fire pit, soft sand lake bottom. We had a great time!

Absolutely amazing property and a beautiful lake home!!! Loved everything about the place.

We went for a relaxing getaway 10 girls and enjoyed every moment and aspect of the house. We wishes we could have stayed longer to enjoy the lake but we had to leave it was a short weekend. Definitely would love to rent this property again in the future!!!

Great Family Extended Weekend

Even though the weather didn't fully cooperate, we still found the property to be exactly what we expected and needed for our family extended weekend. We really enjoyed our time there. Thank you!

Love staying here

This is the second year in a row we have stayed here. We love the location and ability to have a boat while in Leland. The house more than fits our family. We always have such a nice time here. The kids love being able to swim in the lake as it is so shallow for them to enjoy. Beautiful sunsets and perfect distance from Sutton’s bay and downtown Leland.

Great trip

This is a great place very quiet. Owner was easy to work with. Jim respected are privates would empty trash can outside never knew he was even there. Grandkids loved the lake. Fishing was good. Very nice place.

Best stay yet

We have stayed in different places around Leland 3 times and this was by far the best experience. Plenty of space. Kids loved being able to swim right outside the back yard and loved having a tie up for the boat. The owners were very responsive and made it such a great trip. Hope to book this house again for next year!

The "Lake House" was an ideal location for a getaway with family and friends. The property itself is situated in such a way as to encourage group activities in both the house and yard while providing enough space to be alone. The bedroom and bath arrangements add to the ease and comfort of having different groups of family/friends at various times during the week. Our favorite spots were the pier, the fire pit and the alcove under the stairs. The hosts provide everything needed for a stress free stay...just bring your water toys as the beach area is huge. Jim is like having a personal concierge...invisible until you have a question. Everyone who joined us is looking at their 2026 calendars to try and do this again. We highly recommend the hosts and property.

Family reunion

Beautiful setting! Nice clean and plentifully stocked house. Worked out great for family to gather and relax. Suttons bay, traverse city nearby to travel in addition to nice wineries. Marie was very accommodating with our requests. Would definitely like to come back.

Family vacation

Our stay was wonderful, the weather was great. We've rented different properties on the lake but this one was the best by far. Having Jim on the property was convenient. So sad our Houston kiddos couldn't make it last minute. Hopefully next year. make it at the last minute

Anniversary/family celebration

The property was very clean and the kitchen well stocked with everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and had nice bedding. Bathrooms were updated, but they both had pocket doors with small locks of which I'm not a fan. The outside areas were wonderful with lots of seating. The dock was great for watching sunsets. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect

A perfect place in a perfect location for our family of nine. This property has everything you need to truly make your vacation feel like your home away from home. A kitchen with everything you need to cook your home cooked meals, outdoor chairs in every style and size to make everyone feel comfortable, plenty of extra towels, including beach towels, comfy blankets for getting cozy in the family room in the evenings and certainly the cleanest place in which we have ever stayed. We hope to make staying at this home an annual summer vacation for our family.

Slice of heaven

Spent the week celebrating retirement with family. The quality time alone spent with them was worth every penny. The Lakehouse has every amenity you could ask for. It is incredibly clean and well stocked with every item you need for the week. The lake was warm, shallow, and perfect for one year old granddaughter. Jim who is on site (next door) was so helpful and welcoming. He was there if you needed him and never was intrusive allowing us to have an exceptional week. I highly recommend and we will return in two years, and I am already looking forward to it.

Wonderful Family Destination

The Lake House has wonderful outdoor amenities, with a nice shaded lawn, firepit and dock. The water is shallow for quite a distance with a nice sandy bottom and is good for all ages to wade. There is also a moveable swim raft that was put to good use, even at the end of May! The dock has a hoist, so we lauched our boat a few miles away and kept it on the hoist for the weekend. The lake has excellent fishing and we enjoyed a nice bass dinner. The house has many updates, including new kitchen appliances, and two new bathrooms. The kitchen was well stocked. The bedrooms are all larger than they appear in the pictures and very comfortable. We appreciated the soft sheets and ceiling fans. Every room had a few desk fans to use because there is no air conditioning. Despite the home being only 1800 square feet, there was plenty of room for all our guests. The home is located near so many places to visit, we ran out of time! It is a very short drive to Leland or Suttons Bay and only about 30 minutes from Sleeping Bear Dunes. The neighborhood was quiet although at night the sound of the cows across the lake could be heard! The parking is a little tight, as expected with a lake house, so we did have to let the homeowners know in advance how many cars/boats, and occasionally had to move cars around. This is a small price to pay for a wonderful vacation. We highly recommend this property and hope to return again someday!

Perfect Place for Families or Friends

This home is absolutely perfect. It is clean and spacious with a fully stocked kitchen and plenty of extra bath and beach towels. The check in and check out process were as easy as if you were coming and going from your own home. The water is shallow for quite a distance which is so nice for young children. The floating platform is a great place for the adults to relax while watching the kids in the water. The front yard has plenty of room to play frisbee or throw a football. There is no traffic since the road has no outlet and there are not many homes on the road. Next door, there is an apartment above the garage where one of the owners lives. He is very kind and friendly, offering to help if anything is needed, yet giving the guests complete privacy. If you need firewood for the fire pit, he has great firewood at a great price. The yard has a fire pit with marshmallow roasting sticks, a hammock and a picnic table. The wrap-around deck has a patio table, a grill, plenty of extra chairs. Our family loves The Lake House. This was our second time staying here and we will definitely be back again.

Peaceful and Clean

Our family enjoyed staying at this well stocked and very clean lakefront cottage. The view from the living area out to the lake is wonderful. The A/C units in the upstairs rooms can keep the rooms as chilly as you like on the warm summer evenings. Proximity to Sutton’s bay, Leland, and Traverse makes a perfect Homebase for those looking to visit the different towns. This property is stocked better than most! Kitchen needs, details for those with a furry companion, and bathroom extras are all taken care of. We highly recommend a stay here.

Perfect cottage on the lake

We loved our stay at this cozy cottage on Lake Leelanau with our 4 grown children 'and their spouses. We were all comfortable and the cottage exceeded our expectations. It had everything we needed and was quiet and very relaxing. The porch overlooking the lake was wonderful for drinking our coffee in the morning and playing cards while listening to the waves in the evening. We loved every minute of our stay and can't wait to visit again. Thank you to our amazing hosts Jim and Marie.

There are eight owners of property with four in the area for questions and concerns. I am only a five minute drive away if needed. Jim lives in an apartment above the garage for on site questions. He works full time, so you will see little of him.

This Up North retreat is in a quiet area. Enjoy outdoor barbecues, evenings around the camp fire. Enjoy the tranquil waters of Lake Leelanau for boating and swimming pleasures. The sunsets are beautiful over the lake. Shallow sandy bottom is just right for the little ones to play in the water.
