House was great for multiple families and children of all ages. We have 16 guests all stay comfortably. Home was comfortable, clean, and a good home base for our cape vacation. Beach in the back was good for fishing off the dock or beach at high tide. We caught stripers (not big enough to keep, but still fun to catch!), Beach is for exploring for crabs, shells, horseshoe crabs, and other sea critters. Not great for swimming, as it is very rocky and sharp shells. highly recommend water shoes, we all had to go buy them. We had a baby in tow, and hoped to use this beach more, but it wasn't the sandy beach we expected. We did venture to Skaket beach which is about 10 minutes away, and amazing for kids and adults, no too crowded, but get there early! We also went to Nauset light house beach on the Atlantic side, which was fun with big waves, but there is a ledge of rocks to get into the water that was hard to get in/out of. Saw lots of seals, beware of sharks (lots of sightings/closings for a few hours at this beach!). still a fun day! also went to First Encounter beach when we were to late to arrive and Skaket and they were full. Very nice beach in the bay (BUT no lifeguard or facilities and the horseflies were BRUTAL). Our favorite was SKAKET Beach. We also spent a full day on the front lawn with beach chairs, cocktails, waterballoons, and the sprinkler for the kids. Yard is very well maintained. Owner very accommodating and responsive. Basement was perfect for all 8 kids we had with us, ranging from 3- 15 years old. My 3 year old broke the 55in TV in the basement roughhousing, we contacted the owner and offered to replace it and have it shipped by amazon prime. Owner was very easy going about it and very understanding that kids will be kids, and happily agreed to let us replace the TV and ship it to her office. Outdoor shower was a treat! all in all a great trip.
