Apartment is spacious and have all essential amenities. Both the building and decor have an old 30s charm. There is plenty of street parking. Inside, it is generally clean on all frequently used surfaces (dusty on some walls and windows).
It's generally quiet during the day. less tranquil at night with foot traffic noise from upstairs, road noise, and train horns. Do bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.
Kitchen is very well appointed and stocked with all the cookware and eating utensils. There is salt and cooking oil available. We did cook all our dinners at the place. Highly recommend grab groceries or prepared food at H-E-B on near McNay museum. It's the nicest one we have encountered.
The showerhead in the bathroom is a wide and heavy sprayer. The way we dealt with it was to only turn water volume at half way.
We were happy with the central heating, though different rooms seem to vary in temperature...the living room is the warmest, bedroom stays cooler, and bathroom is the coolest. Would recommend heavier cover for sleeping as the winter nights is chilli in SA and we compensated by up the heater due to lack of additional available blankets.
The host, Austin, is a great communicator. We stayed in touch the entire time, he let us know that we could check in early, provided instruction for check in, departure, checked in on us.
Overall we were satisfied with our stay.
