My partner and I had a wonderful stay at the cottage, our host was welcoming and very helpful with an in-depth knowledge of the area and hiking suggestions/directions. Everything was as described and we would (will) definitely stay again when planning a trip to the area.

Perfect, cozy cottage with private deck and welcoming hosts. Debra went beyond to recommend best hikes, even lent us her hiking poles. Highlights were the comfortable bed, relaxing outdoor space with views and immaculate accommodations. We will definitely be back here next time we’re in Mill Valley!

A beautiful setting in a quiet neighborhood. Debra was a friendly and accommodating host.Its best if you have a car as the cottage property is up a very steep road.The cottage was spotless and comfortable.

We had an incredible stay at this beautiful little place in Mill Valley. The space was exactly as described—cozy, charming, and surrounded by natural beauty. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, and all our needs were anticipated.What truly made our stay unforgettable was the host, who went above and beyond in every way. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel completely at home. When my suitcase was delayed for two days, they generously offered and provided clothing so we wouldn’t have to cancel our hiking plans. That level of kindness and hospitality is rare and deeply appreciated.We couldn't have asked for a better experience and can’t wait to return!

Amazing hospitality and location

Our stay was amazing from start to finish. Debra and her family made us feel so welcome. The location is stunning - great views, hummingbirds, flowers, etc. in walking distance to wonderful trails for hiking/biking. Bed is very comfortable, accommodations are lovely with a well-stocked kitchen. We will be back!

Absolute perfection

This is the most perfect cabin up on the edge of the trails -- super comfy with every last detail thought of. Views over the valley, decking with comfy chairs for inside out living, pots, pans, erbs, coffee, banana bread (to die for!), a sumptuous bed, and trails 5 mins away up into incredible mountains. Debra & William are brilliant hosts -- friendly and super kind. Thanks so much for letting me stay!

Peaceful and very beautiful

The hosts were perfect. Accommodating for any needs or questions while giving the guest complete privacy.Debra and Willy have created a majestic beauty.It is a little windy going up and slightly remote but that is part of it's charm.Highly recommended.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in this quiet and peaceful community. The cottage was super clean, well stocked and perfect for our stay in the area. Debra recommended hikes for us and they were perfect for what we wanted! Book your stay here, you will LOVE it.

A wonderful discovery

A wonderful discovery. My wife and I, both retired, wanted to get away from Silicon Valley to relax and do some hiking. We selected the North San Francisco Bay area and came across Debra's Mill Valley Nature Cottage. This is a converted garage located right behind the home were Debra and her husband William live, but to say that does not do it justice. It is a lovely cottage with incredible views of Mt. Tam and outside sitting areas where you can see deer on a wooded hillside a hundred feet away. The best part of the stay was the hostess, Debra. There are many trails to hike nearby, and we were more than delighted to discover that Debra led hikes so she could direct us to trails based on what we told her we wanted. She also was able to direct us away from trails up on Mt. Tam during the daytime, where there were temperatures in the 90's! She took very good care of us and made us feel so very welcome. I should also mention that there is winding lane going up to the cottage. This is NOT challenging, you just go up it at 10-15 mph. There are no streetlights on it but your headlights are more than sufficient to make you feel safe at night. We felt very lucky to have discovered Debra's place, and will book more nights there.

Lovely spot - Terrifying road

Delightful cottage, beautifully decorated, lovely, very private side deck. Debra ( my host) could not be more helpful, wonderful banana bread and fresh fruit. If you are not going to be going out at night, it's a perfect get away. HOWEVER, the single lane, VERY steep, road to get there is manageable during the day but pretty scary at night, even the LYFT drivers were frightened.

Amazing Stay

This property is absolutely amazing. Debra was the perfect host. She strikes the perfect balance between providing for maximum privacy, while still being available to answer questions and provide advice on dining, etc. We highly recommend the Mill Valley Nature Cottage!

Delightful stay in Every way!

I have never stayed anywhere like this with such incredible views! Sunbathing on the deck with a view of Mt. Tam was heavenly. The cottage is charming with hand crafted touches. Debra is truly the hostess with the mostest of all my VRBO stays. I enjoyed every bit of my stay and highly recommend it.

Hiker/biker paradise is accurate!

Perfect spot for a working couple to get away for several days. It was just the right distance from town: the cottage is quite literally "above it all" but still just a 1 mile brisk walk to town where there is excellent live music at Sweetwater and the Depot. We had our bikes and Debra was kind enough to bring out a tarp to cover them when it rained. There is even a bike rack! Fast and reliable cable internet. Many other reviews have mentioned the fresh-baked banana bread but it's worth repeating. :^)

Fabulous

Our stay at Debra’s beautiful cottage was so lovely. Everything about the cottage was clearly made with love and care. The view was stunning and we had several hummingbird visits. Debra was very consciencious, clear, responsive, generous, attentive, and flexible with communication and all our needs. The only thing to be aware of is you definitely need a car to drive up the narrow roads to this cottage because it is high up in Mill Valley. Thank you so much for a beautiful experience. May many people enjoy this gem.

Above and beyond

I am over the moon about my stay at this very special property and my wonderful hosts! This cottage, in this stunning and serene location is remarkable, beautiful, comfortable, clean, quiet, and very very hard to leave. In fact thanks to my flexible and generous hosts I was able to extend my stay a little longer than planned. The property and grounds are surrounded by nature, trees, birds, mountains, and sky, and the cottage has everything I could have possibly needed for my 9 day stay. Including a filtered water system, plenty of lovely linens/towels, everything I needed for cooking my meals, and so much sunlight and serenity. And I could walk so much! One of my favorite things to do! Either into town, or into the hills, the woods, anything. And I must note - since I am EXTREMELY particular about sleep/rest comfort - the bed is next level comfortable! Thank you to Debra and William, who I loved getting to know, were so friendly, warm, and engaging, and also gave me all the privacy I could have needed. This trip at this special place fed my soul in every way. I plan to return as soon as possible!

Fantastic Mountain Cottage!

This cottage is beautifully designed and furnished, fully equipped with everything you could need for a short or long term stay, and in a stunning location. The back deck is a real treat. Debra is a wonderful host and my entire stay could not have been nicer.
