The cabin was great, clean and comfortable and sat right above the river. The sounds of the river and the trees in the wind were stress relieving. The owners were great and very helpful. They provided wonderful insight to the national and state parks, nearby hiking trails, and even a fishing tip or two. We played lots of card games at night and took to the time to piece together a 500-piece puzzle. This is a perfect getaway spot to enjoy nature and just relax.

Awesome location overlooking the river

Absolutely loved the location and quietness of the cabin. Cabin is off grid as described and Wifi is spotty, but you might be glad for it, as staying there will make you want to unwind. Bed was comfortable, bathroom dated but clean.

REally enjoyed your visit. Wish I had had you adjust my bike, I tried it and messed up my cable, have to order a new one since I frayed it by tightening too hard. Cold here, 34 degrees, ha ha. West Yellowstone must be pretty chill right now. Planning a trip to Patagonia for January/ Feb., super excited! Cheers!

Great Place to Get Away

If you are looking for a place to stay as a jumping off point to all the redwood forests, this cabin is what you want. Wonderful hosts that can point you in the right direction for places to go and a friendly dog to greet you when you return from a day of hiking and sightseeing. Get a taste of off grid living without having to fully commit to moving to the mountains.

We are so glad you had a good time here and enjoyed meeting you. It is good to unplug a bit, though WiFi is available. We plan to upgrade the WiFi very soon since so many people seem so reliant on a strong connection, even needing to connect to conduct business while away. We get it. A new satellite system is on its way.

We loved our stay here—the beautiful river, friendly hosts, and the cabin was just perfect! The sleeping bunks are generously sized and there bed in the loft was super comfortable. We really enjoyed all the area has to offer, wish we had stayed longer. It was also such a relief to be out of cell service for a while. Hope we can return again soon.

Our stay in the A-frame was fantastic. We loved it all... the atmosphere of the landscaping, a house with great vibes, and a ridiculously beautiful river. It was a truly peaceful (and cozy) getaway, one that left us wanting more. And on top of all that, Joe showed us warmth and kindness from the minute we arrived to the moment we left. Hey Pete, hope to hear about your trip home to your Wisconsin farm. I really enjoyed hearing about your farming life. I have always valued the “small” farmer and their struggles in modern times with everything. I loved our conversations. I hope you enjoyed the route home that I initiated for you!
