The property welcomed our pet and when our plans changed & we could not bring her, the Manager promptly refunded the pet fee. The kitchen was adequate, appliances above average, there were plenty of towels and hot water, and the home was clean.It was a 3 minute drive to the Redwoods visitor center and five more to the Redwoods Grove. Golden Grove is an excellent home to stay in to explore the redwoods.Disappointments were the porch light was burned out making it difficult to see the access codes in the dark forest night & through trial & error we figured out the lock had to be moved too, this was not in the instructions. Area rugs are curling becoming tripping hazards,our queen bed sunk in the middle making it awkward, the living room chais lounge was worn and hard to get off of the depression, and to use the TVs we had to use our personal access codes, so we had no movie or shows together.We rate Golden Grove a solid four stars. In order to get a 5 all beds, furniture, rugs and carpet need to be in safe & comfortable condition and we would like TV.

Great location and host and house itself. Pet-friendly place. We had some rain and were so happy to be able to hang out in lovely surroundings, and then head out to the redwoods.

This was an awesome stay! Lovely home and responsive management. It would be handy for future visitors to know they should keep the door code somewhere besides their phones since none of us staying there had phone service to access the code which was only in on the website or emails that we couldn't access.

A lil outdated, but a cozy place. Close to some site seeing adventures. No outside garbage receptacles. No door lock on the room off the suite/otherside of bathroom. Which made the awesome shower difficult to enjoy after kids went to bed. Id stay again.

The bonus room next to master is not practical for adults as it warrants one person needs to wake up before the other, also the deck boards are a hazard. Other than that beautiful home and would definitely stay again.

Perfect Cabin on Smith River

Clean, cozy and lovely home on the Smith River - the back porch is perfect for drinking a cup of tea while chatting. The location, view and peacefulness were unbeatable. Would definitely stay here again!

What an amazing place to stay! We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay while visiting the redwoods! Check in was effortless with great instructions. The house was amazing. Make sure you read about the room set up closely. One room is just a bed on the landing at the top of the stairs and another room is through the master bathroom. It worked for us as our kids stayed in that room, and I certainly wouldn’t take away from the rating over this! Lola was wonderful and quick to respond to a question I had, and when we forgot something when we left had it at the post office the next day for us to get shipped! We had coffee every morning on the porch with the fire and everything we needed to cook meals! I wish I had taken more pictures of the house, but pictures posted on listing are accurate!

What a view in a gorgeous home!

Such a beautiful home a stones throw away from the famous Jedediah smith redwoods state park. Plenty of room for 3 couples plus nice kitchen supplies. The bedding was lovely and plenty of extra blankets and pillows. The views were spectacular and excellent communication getting in and out. 5 stars all around!!

Great for family gathering

This property worked beautifully for our family. It was within close proximity to another VRBO we were able to rent to accommodate everyone. The only issue we ran into was with the upstairs family room. It was obvious it had been closed up and smelled a little musty. Thankfully, we didn’t need to used it and were able to utilize all the other sleeping surfaces. The deck was amazing! Location perfect.

Peaceful settings, steps to the redwoods

We had a fantastic trip to the Jedidiah Smith redwoods near Crescent City California. This home was comfortable, well appointed and exactly as advertised. Communications with the host were great. We did find that the Wi-Fi was not working, but we honestly didn’t even mention it during our stay because we were happy to disconnect. I feel certain that if I had mentioned it, they would have corrected the problem. It was a very easy drive or a comfortable walk from our cabin to numerous hiking trails. We wish we had had longer to visit. We would happily return to this property.
