The location was perfect, right in Gasquet on the Smith River. The windows and porch over looking the River was beautiful. The home looked just as pictured. Plenty of beds for everyone.

Great location for visiting the Redwoods. Also wonderful for just sitting on the deck watching the Smith River roll by. House was very comfortable and the kitchen had plenty of dishes and quality cookware. Lots of condiments and staples available as well. Hosts were lovely.

Absolutely loved our time here. Dog friendly, views of the river from inside and out on deck. Dogs and we loved floating on the river. Welcoming casual layout, which we wanted for our dog and outdoor activies. Quiet calm neoghborhood to walk dogs, neighbors all very friendly. Owner across atreet was wonderful. Involved only if you want. Loved my chats w her. Appx 20 min thru forest to crescent city, with great short hikes along the way

Family Visit

Long weekend trip to see family and the location couldn’t be more beautiful. Quiet neighborhood, large deck with a great view, roomy inside and Marian was great to work with. Will come back next time we see family.

Fantastic place!

We loved staying here! We enjoyed the redwoods, the ocean and floating the river, but the deck overlooking the Smith River is the best part of BMH! And we love the host's hospitality.

Perfect Redwood Location

My husband got up and fished every morning, home was fully equipped to cook, beautiful view of Smith River and Host was so informative and accommodating! Hope to return and stay longer!

Perfect Thansgiving getaway

Stayed at the cabin Thanksgiving week and had an amazing time. Beautiful location plus the house was impeccably clean and stocked with everything you could possibly need! Perfect place for day trips to amazing Redwood hikes and cozy days at home. Thanks to Marian for being such a gracious host and can't wait to come back!

Awesome vacation getaway (BMH) “bite my hook” vacation rental.

We absolutely loved our stay at BMH, and would definitely stay again. Beautiful view of the Smith River. Fully stocked house with many amenities (bbq, fire pit, etc.) Just up the road from many great Hiking and fishing locations as well. Road Trip

This stay was our stopping point of a 2024 road trip. We wish we could have stayed longer because sitting on the back deck looking at the crystal clear Smith River was just wonderful. And being so close to the Redwood National Park was an added bonus. Marian and John were great hosts and gave us suggestions on some additional hikes close by. We would definitely recommend a stay here.

The owners of BMH live out of the area. They rented BMH many times through the years, and when it went up for sale, they bought it! That way, when they want to come up and fish, its here for them!

We bought the house across the street in 2014, just moving here from Crescent City. It just made sense to manage BMH for the guys, so close, can keep an eye out for them when they're not here! My husband and I are retired, absolutely in love with Gasquet! It's quiet, wonderful warm summers, and of course, the north fork of the Smith River! There is no river as beautiful as the Smith! You can count the rocks on the bottom in the summer, watch the shades of green change, day to day, in the winter!

This is not like a lot of California. We have the ocean, the giant redwoods, the cleanest and clearest river in the U.S., the Smith of course. Our county of Del Norte has only 25,000 people and no polution.
