This custom-built 5,000 sq ft house located in Missoula in the beautiful Grant Creek Valley sits atop a ridge overlooking a splendid forested valley with a direct view north of Snowbowl ski area, local ranch land, and the elk preserve. The house sits on five acres with no direct neighbors and has walking trails outside its front door and National Forest trails within a five-minute drive. Downtown Missoula and Reserve Street are a quick 5-10 minute drive for entertainment and shopping. This property is a quiet peaceful getaway just minutes from town with clean fresh air and minimal noise. There is a large front wrap-around deck and a backyard/barbecue fenced-in garden area for dining alfresco. The front yard is large and flat for kids to play on with a long flat paved driveway and easy parking. There is amazing sunshine from early morning to sunset with stunning views of the Big Montana Sky.
The house's upper level has an open floor plan with hardwood floors in the kitchen and carpet in the living room. Cherrywood cabinets, surrounding wood and granite countertops, a large gas fireplace with mantle, and a granite stone sitting area. The north-facing wall has large cathedral windows facing the mountain view with a baby grand piano in the living room, with a large open kitchen for entertaining, a breakfast island that holds a 4-burner gas range, electric oven, and wine fridge. Full freezer/refrigerator with ice maker, kitchen amenities, and large cherrywood kitchen table seats eight. The upper floor holds the master bedroom and master bath and guest bedroom and guest bathroom.

Downstairs is sunny daylight with an outside door and a large smart TV with a 72-inch screen, couch, and chairs. Downstairs has two bedrooms and a two-sink bathroom with a walk-in shower. Downstairs ceilings are 8,5' tall. The mudroom holds a washing machine/dryer and utility sink and a built-in ironing board with bench seating.

Excellent views all around with plenty more f space to enjoy them. Convenient to downtown and the airport. Spacious house with plenty of room for large groups to hang out comfortably. John setup our larger group for success by inflating a couple extra air beds as well.

Thanksgiving gathering

This is our second Thanksgiving in this home and we love it. It's spacious and has beautiful views and is ideal for spending a holiday together. The house is in a quiet neighborhood close to shopping and everything else. There are good hiking trails nearby and the hosts are very gracious and accompanied!!!

Great place for your small wedding

The owner was gracious enough to allow us to hold our wedding at his house. The house and setting were the perfect place for our wedding! It was nice that John was willing to communicate so often with us leading up to the wedding so both parties knew what to expect. Overall, a great experience!

Made Our Wedding Weekend Perfect!!!!!!

Honestly, this property is so serene and made our wedding weekend magical!!! I was able to have my bridal party get ready here, waking up to the views, relaxing on the deck overlooking Snowbowl is where I wrote my vows!! John and his wife were so accommodating, allowing me to come see the property beforehand to assist with planning! If I could give them a million stars I would!! This property is perfect for hosting family, friends and even just as an escape, it is so quiet and safe and beautiful, I could go on and on. This place will always have nostalgic value for my husband and I and I cannot thank John enough! :)

Breathtaking Home

We needed a VRBO for our family of 9 at the last minute (next day), after the property we had booked became unavailable due to storm damage. John could not have been more helpful - messaging on and off for two hours, as we coordinated the refund process with VRBO. The home was clean, very well equipped kitchen with all the essentials and more, and plenty of indoor and outdoor space for relaxing with family. Amazing views of both sunrise and sunset. Perfect base for the first half of our Montana vacation.

Graduation Weekend Extravaganza

The photos in the listing do not do this home justice. We enjoyed a large space for family, ages 10-80, and this home was breathtaking and perfect. The views are expansive, and truly “Big Sky State” worthy. The sunsets epic, home quiet, location easy and convenient, and the kitchen fully stocked. We had two gatherings to celebrate our graduate, and the lovely patio and gorgeous deck were perfect. There was plenty of space and family games available to play at night. John was a gracious host, going above and beyond.

Little Thanksgiving Visit

We book the Glacier Getaway house for Thanksgiving weekend while visiting our son who is a student in town. We couldn’t have enjoyed to house more. The house was is very clean, very spacious, and had plenty of room for entertaining. The fully stocked kitchen allowed for the perfect Thanksgiving dinner all while enjoying the spectacular view from the family room! The check in process was very easy and the host was very easy to contact if we needed anything! Well done! We look forward to visiting again!

Family Gathering

The property was great. Views are wonderful for pictures. Six adults and plenty of space. Lots of board games and cards for rainy days. Country living but just minutes from town. Will stay here again. John was very helpful and accommodating.

Stunning View

This property is just as beautiful as it looks in the pictures. The view from the livingroom is spectacular. It has an enormous kitchen that works well for a large group. The owner is very attentive and answers any questions you may have promptly. The only problem with the property is that you will never want to leave!

Magnificent Missoula

John’s house was absolutely perfect for our group of 6 who were in town for some guided fly fishing. He was very accommodating to blow up 2 air mattresses so each guest had their own bed and super responsive to my questions. The property is nestled into a hillside with wonderful views and the inside was like a beautiful ranch house, with a kitchen that welcomes group cooking. We would very much stay again at John’s if we return to Missoula.

Fabulous place to stay!!

Everything about this house is wonderful!! We had everything we needed/wanted a available to us! I especially loved the shampoo, conditioner and body wash selection in the master bedroom! The views were stunning! We had a large group … 6 adults, 3 kids and 2 dogs … and we never felt crowded. Our host (John) was very helpful and had perfect suggestions for things for us to do while we were in town. We had a fabulous stay at the gorgeous home!

Family fishing trip

My husband and I have brought our adult children and their spouses/girlfriends out to Missoula several times over the past 8 years and decided to try out a new property this year. It was absolutely perfect for our group. The property and house were immaculate, very spacious, well stocked with essentials and had a beautiful sweeping view! It was also only 8 - 10 minutes from the guide shop and the grocery store. And John, the owner, was super easy to contact and very responsive. It was a wonderful place to make memories with family or friends! Highly recommended by each member of my family!

Great place and great view

John was very responsive and helpful. We had a wonderful long weekend at this house on the hill. The view was amazing and it was very quite up there. It is very spacious with enough room for extended family to spread out and get together for games, which there is a closet full of.

Great location beautiful views.

My family and I came up to a Montana football game looking for a decent size house with room for little kids to run around outside and inside. This was a great location. Beautiful house with everything we needed for both the kids and the adults! Definitely will stay here again.

Clean modern house with plenty of room for guests to separate yet come together for eating and entertainment. Ten minutes into downtown Missoula.
