My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely villa. The bathroom faucets were frozen due to record breaking cold weather, but that didn't stop us from enjoying the time together.

Awesome Family Spot!

The condo was very clean but the air conditioning on the 2nd floor was not working the best. The resort itself was pristine with no need to leave. We did use the beach pass and several times which was very nice. This is a perfect vacation for people who want a great resort without the crowds!

Quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Outstanding location. The low country at its best. Unit well stocked and maintained. As per another review, if you don’t want to do laundry, take towels with you. Property contact Heidi is excellent to work with. Thank you for a wonderful week.

The property was very nice....we have stayed in the same area a number of times before. There were no window coverings in the kitchen / dinning aera for late night privacy ... otherwise the property was fine.The biggest issue was arriving at the front security gate and they had nothing about us staying there. ..No paper work ...no knowledge of our name as guest arriving? It took me two hours to alert VRBO and try to contact the host which was a real problem as I was directed to a third party who hardly knew what was going on. Very poorly handled!!I hope that can be addressed for any future visits by us or others as it was not enjoyable and somewhat embarresing to go through!!

We recommend that guests contact the local host directly if they encounter any issues during their stay. Our phone number is provided on the VRBO listing and we are available 24/7. We were never informed of any issue during the guests stay by the guest or by VRBO.

Great getaway

We had a wonderful time. Close to the pool which was very nice. Just a tip for future visitors the cafe at the pool only takes cash and there’s no atm on the island.

Down time at Dataw

Dataw is a great place to slow down and appreciate all that is around you: the wild life, the sound of the wind in the trees, the peacefulness of the water, and the beautiful sunsets. The property was clean and well appointed and the property manager was very attentive and quick to respond to my questions. We will definitely return.

Great vacation spot!

We had a great time at this property on Dataw Island. The condo is located near the pool and tennis courts but the condos were very quiet despite being near all of the activities. The views are lovely and accommodations were clean and well appointed. We loved the closeness of Beaufort, the beach (pass included) and even got in a day trip to Savannah. Would definitely stay here again!

Nice Condo in an Exclusive Neighborhood

Every thing was great about the condo. Heidi was easy to work with and communicated very well with all our questions. The one thing I would warn any future renters on is the use of amenities. We were told that they were of limited use due to Covid-19 however we were not informed that the tennis courts, croquet and bocce ball had an additional fee. This was an unpleasant surprise given the rest of the amenities were unavailable. All in all it is a nice rental unit and we made the best of what we had.

Lovely stay

This was a wonderful stay. We appreciated the care with which we were welcomed in the house, especially as soaps, shampoo, conditioners and all those things that one forgets to pack were already there, including the dish washer soap and the laundry detergent. A few citronella candles might have been handy too, but we were very grateful for making the essentials available to us. We were sad that the beach was closed due to hurricane Matthew, but we were glad that we could use the pool! Many thanks!

Great Place!!

Let's start with clean and well appointed. The owner has all the amenities and household items you need. The view is spectacular and the grounds and island are fantastic. The golf courses are beautiful, the fitness center is first class and the club grill and restaurant are very good. The Sweet Grass restaurant is great and has a wonderful view!! The owner is very attentive and wants guests to be comfortable and it shows. We will be back!!

What A Beautiful Island.

WOW. This island is beautiful and well maintained. The trees were tall and covered with moss. The golf greens were well manicured. We loved being able to walk to the pier and watch the Dolphins. We came in on Sunday. And left on Tuesday. The furnishings and decor were very nice. It was very clean. The location next to the golf club house was perfect. The listing says there are two bicycles. We were unable to locate them. The outside of the unit had lots of ants around the perimeter and on the deck. We were told by magement that the exterminator was going to come in a few days, which did not enable us to use the deck as we wished. Also the washing machine did not work. We were on a 14 day trip. It was important to us that the washer worked. Someone did come by and did a load of towels for us. Again, management said it was scheduled for repairs. That was very disappointing. I feel we should have been told that it was not working since they knew. (The day we left, we found that someone had put a bag of garbage inside the fenced in area where the can was. They did not put it in the can, so it was torn open over night by critters. I want Heidi to know that it was not our garbage. It had egg cartons and etc in it. We never cooked anything while there.). The pass to the beach was appreciated. We would love to come back. It was a very relaxing way to end our vacation.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay with us. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed the villa and the amenities on Dataw Island. In response to your comment on the washing machine, the washing machine stopped working the Friday you were scheduled to arrive following another guest's stay (the prior renters left the same day). Due to the weekend, the appliance repair company was unable to get the part to complete the repair until the beginning of the following week. In an effort to minimize the inconvenience, we did offer you the use of another villa next door for washing any additional items and provided towel cleaning pickup and delivery free of charge. Additional sets of clean linens are also provided and stored at the villa for our guests to use. Ants are a natural element of the outdoors. The porch is completely open to the outside where guests can feel at home with nature. Many times guests like to eat and drink on the outdoor porch and sugar ants are attracted to any tiny morsels that are left behind. We have a pest control company that we call anytime an issue is reported and they normally respond by the next business day. Raccoons have been known to pull entire garbage bags out of garbage cans (they are very smart and crafty). Every effort is made to prevent this from happening by purchasing trash cans that are more difficult for raccoons to access. It sounds as though the trash that you found inside the trash enclosure had just been placed in the garbage can by the previous renters that left the same day you arrived.

Dataw Island Villa

My wife and I recently enjoyed an extended stay at this fabulous villa. It's very comfortable and beautifully appointed. It has an amazing view over a creek and the eighteenth green. My brother and I had a great time playing the two golf courses; both of which are gems. Our goodbye dinner was at the Sweetgrass restaurant where the food and service were excellent. Heidi the Property Manager did a great job setting up our rental. We look forward to working with her on our return visit.
