Amazing Experience!
Our hostess Liz was very accommodating, insightful & always available for questions. She provided excellent suggestions & prepared us for what to expect. She advised the typical commute to the grocery store is 20 mins. We planned meals in advance & shopped before heading up.
The cabin is incredible! All the comforts of home + amazing views! Be sure to catch the sunrise over the mountain in the morning on the deck! The house stayed cozy & warm in winter. The indoor fireplace is remote controlled, easy to use & quickly heats up the main & upper levels.
The kitchen is user friendly with beautiful granite & ample counter space. We prepared breakfast & coffee each morning & dinner two of the 4 nights. I made pork & steak on the grill. There is a great outdoor porch with fireplace & TV. Lit a fire & watched golf on DIRECTV while grilling!
The downstairs is super cozy & fun! Huge space - 4 bunk beds, pool table, TV, huge comfy couch, full bath & balcony. Each bunk is well thought out with its own power & USB outlets for phones or other devices. My son spent hours down there entertaining himself.
We slept in the middle bedroom upstairs. Big windows & best sunrise view. The beds were very comfortable, adjacent bathroom was huge - 2 sinks, shower & separate toilet. Stocked with big soft towels & everything we needed.
The garden golf course in the neighborhood was my son's favorite. There are about 8 holes, none over 40 yards long, so bring wedge & putter. Park by Trillium Fitness & walk down the path. The over water shot was the best.
We did two great hiking trails nearby. Liz recommended Turtleback Falls in Gorges State Pk. Moderate hike with an amazing waterfall at the end. The water level was perfect, creating a huge mist that blew through the valley. Second was High Falls Park. Google maps has the trail head incorrect. Be sure you navigate to High Falls Parking Area. The way back is a bit strenuous, but well worth it.
Liz suggested Sapphire Valley Resort’s snowy ski area. So much fun! We signed up for the 4:00 session of tubing. Passes were $28 each for two hours. Ride up the conveyor & head down the hill, repeat!
We ate in Cashiers a couple times. Slab Town Pizza recommended by Liz was very delicious. It gets packed so go early. Had lunch one day at Whiteside Brewing Co. Highly recommend the Le Cordon Brew.
We will definitely be returning to Wildwood!
