Highlights:
This property really felt like a home away from home. We went with our 5-year old, and she LOVED the hot tub, bunk beds and games in the game table (Guess Who was her favorite).
The Italian restaurant a block away was really good, and we enjoyed calling our order in and bringing it back to the house to eat in comfort.
The grocery store is also a block away and we made a ton of trips b/c it was so easy, and made having everything we need a reality.
Communication with the owner was prompt and helpful
Need to knows:
*For a child, you will want to drive, drop-off or shuttle to the slopes. It is walkable for a adults, no problem, but we elected to pay to park ($30/day) at the Beaver Run resort public parking lot and it was worth every penny to save our legs at the end of the day.
*Confirm the correct entry code for the doors prior to day of arrival. VRBO has an outdated code in the check-in instructions
*Housekeeping forgot some items (like TP, paper towels, etc.), but the owner promptly handled and had them come back within an hour to ensure we had everything restocked. Handled as well as one could ask for, and that stuff happens.
*The heating in the house is a bit unique. The living room stays warm, but the bedrooms did not appear to have heating directly to them, so they need heat to move from the living room/fire place into them. For a cold sleeper this is great, for a warm sleeper, you'll want to leave the doors open at night to allow the warmer air to circulate throughout the home. Not a drastic difference, but worth noting.
Overall, we loved this property and would book again for a future trip. The location itself is reason enough to book, but the look and feel of the home really do make it feel like a place you could stay for weeks. Very satisfied with our experience and appreciate the owners helpful communication throughout.
