Each summer we spend several weeks in San Clemente. Our daughter's family (including our awesome baby grand daughter) join us for one week. We rented this VRBO for that week, (and moved to a one bedroom (with massive ocean view, and more money), closer to the water after they left.This unit was perfect for our needs, it was spacious. The beds were all rather comfortable (and plentiful) The place was really nice overall, but like most rentals, on the "beachy" looking side (lots of seashells, beachy pictures). The kitchen came fully equipped, and worked out great, though we ate many meals out.One reason we chose this unit, was that it was very close to the beach and pier (3 minute walk) which is very downhill. All the restaurants and shops in town were 3-5 minutes the other direction, uphill. Perfect location. With a granddaughter and stroller, etc. we wanted to avoid being to close to the pier, or too high up in town, because the walk from there to town is seriously uphill. This place split the difference. Del Mar is the main street, which took only two minutes to walk to.The only downside, no ocean view from the unit. But we knew that going in. The large patio had a table and chairs. and a grill.The only thing missing was a comfortable couch or recliners outside. The outside chairs were ok but not for sitting out there for long periods of time.Pictures are accurate.We will book this again next year when the kids are with us. It worked out great!

Excellent location!

Can't beat the location: 10 min walking distance from the beach, 5 mins to a playground, 5 mins to downtown. Very clean and has all the amenities you need.

Completely remodeled, clean and convenient. Quiet neighborhood. Really nice. However you could hear TVs and guests walking around overhead. Would stay again but only on top floor.

Recent stay at Hideaway A

We’ve stayed at this property previously (in Hideaway B) and have found it conveniently located and fairly comfortable. Beds are comfortable but the pillows are a bit mushy for us. Could use additional living room seating, especially with four adults staying there. Overall, a very decent place to stay.

Honest thoughts.

Upon arrival the place was clean, and the AC was on which was a nice relief from the humidity. Really good spot to have with kids because there is a good size backyard with a place to rinse off all the sand before coming inside. Spacious kitchen and rooms and very large bathrooms therefore, it was very easy to wash off the kids for dinner. Garage was a little bit of a tight squeeze, but there were amenities available for the beach, including chairs and umbrellas and beach toys and boogie boards. The location was perfect!!! 5 minute walk to the beach and another 5 minute walk to downtown. The beds were really comfortable, and over all a GREAT stay!

Hide a way gem

This is a home away from home on steroids. Spacious living quarters. Beach is a stomes throw away. We never felt so comfortable except when were in our own home.
