We found this house while planning a getaway to Vancouver and we felt so lucky to have stayed here. The hosts were incredibly helpful and communicative and the location of the suite was an easy walking distance to dozens of restaurants, spas, and shopping. We rented a car, because we wanted to visit a few hiking trails and to do some shopping downtown, but you could easily stay here without a vehicle as well. We were very impressed with the neighborhood and how well the hosts have done designing the property. We'd happily stay again, which we might just do, because Vancouver is sooooo amazing!

Kitsilano retreat

We loved our second stay at Neil and Heidi’s VRBO. We managed to escape a large snowfall at home and the little bit of rain we had while in Vancouver was bearable. The cherry blossoms and flowers made up for the rain. Will definitely return.

Clean and comfortable

The basement apartment was clean and comfortable and worked very well for me. There is plenty of natural light in the space.It’s walking distance to many restaurants and shops along Broadway.Parking was always available right in front of the house.

Perfect stay!

Another Great Stay!

This was our second stay at Neil and Heidi’s place and it was superb again. The suite is spotlessly clean and is ideal for a short or longer stay. The bed and linens are wonderful and the neighbourhood is absolutely quiet at night. The suite is ideally located … a 20 minute drive from the airport, in a quiet residential area (nice for evening walks.) Grocery stores and nice neighbourhood restaurants are close by, even walkable. 4th Avenue shopping is a short (5-10 minute) drive. We won’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended.

This “Oasis” is in the quiet and convenient ideal residential area, where most people probably want to live once in their lives. Great Place to Stay!

This was a great residence to stay at and Neil and Heidi were available to help if there were issues. Quiet and cozy! Easy street parking and a simple walk to a main street full of restaurants. With a car, it was only 10 minutes or less to Granville Market and many other parts of town. Would love to come back again in the summer!

Perfect Home Base

Neil and Heidi's place is the perfect place for exploring the Vancouver area. Enjoy the bustle of downtown or galleries near UBC and then return to this amazingly clean and well appointed oasis within 10 minutes. Steps from great restaurants and shops but tucked away in a quiet and private neighbourhood. Their check-in procedures were efficient and accommodating and communication throughout the visit was excellent. A must stay if you're in the area.

It’s all true

Neil and Heidi were wonderful hosts. Very responsive at all points. The apartment was immaculate and had everything we needed. The patio was beautiful and a lovely place for coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening. It’s a very safe neighborhood and we walked everywhere. Great restaurants and shopping. My wife Heidi and I, and our two university age children, love spending time outdoors (skiing, canoeing, hiking, kayaking and surfing) and traveling. Our main base is in Vancouver but we also spend time with our family in Victoria and at our home on Mayne Island. We have a number of long term rental properties and two furnished VRBO rentals in Victoria, one in Whistler and this one in Vancouver. We are members in good standing with Landlord BC and enjoy taking exceptional care of our tenants and our rental properties.

We purchased this property in 1993 and undertook a big renovation to it in 2003. We renovated it again in 2018, including taking the suite down to the studs.

We absolutely love this house and location. It is a quiet street, yet walking distance to all amenities. We enjoy running to the beach and the local parks. The proximity to public transit and downtown is the icing on the cake. We have created an oasis in the backyard that creates a perfect spot for unwinding.
