Throughout all the comedy and errors, the owner was very accommodating!
The comedy starts on check in day. Upon opening the door it was evident the condo had not been cleaned ( bed linens on the floor, etc). The owner refunded our cleaning fee and expedited the cleaning service. We did get into a “clean” condo that night. Unfortunately, probably due to the quick cleaning,; towels were damp, and the cleaning was basically a “lick & a promise.”
This was our first time for an extended (longer than one week) stay. The “cozy” condo took some time for us to adapt. I think it would be great for travelers that are use to small spaces or a short stay.
Be prepared for a possible early morning fire alarm wake up. During our stay there were 2 within an 8 hour timeframe. Yes, naturally, during the middle of the night and early morning. According to regular residents this has been happening since the installation of the new system …Hopefully it will be rectified in the near future.
I would like to reiterate, the owner could not have been more helpful. He responded quickly to all calls, no matter the time of day or night.
The pluses: the condo has all you need and the new queen bed is very comfy. There were basic spices on hand and the owner also had chairs to use on the small deck. There is plenty of closet and drawer space. You are close to town and all the fun things that Durango offers. Plus, if you like hummingbirds, you are in for a treat. We purchased an inexpensive feeder and they kept us thoroughly entertained. It was not unusual to have 3 or 4 hummers feeding at once. We saw Rufous, black chins, and broadtails. A real treat as we rarely see those back East.
Once again, the inconveniences we experienced were no fault of the owner… he was very helpful and readily available via text or telephone.
