Peek at the Peaks ~ private cabin with stunning mountain views & Starlink WiFi

Welcome to our cabin, located in the ponderosa pines, just 7 miles west of beautiful historic downtown Durango. Newly constructed timber frame private cabin built with timbers harvested and milled on site. Features deck with spectacular mountain views, cozy loft with comfortable king-size bed, kitchen with stove top range, coffee maker and fridge (cooking utensils/dishes provided), microwave. Full bath with large walk-in shower, living room with smart TV & Starlink satellite high speed wireless internet. *Loft is accessed by narrow spiral staircase which may not be suitable to some with mobility issues*

Experience all the adventures Durango has to offer: biking, boating, fishing, hiking, jeeping, pickelball, rafting, skiing, shopping & dining, and the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Train. Check out durango.org for a comprehensive site of places to go and things to do. Or simply unplug and immerse yourself in the peaceful forest and toss a few horseshoes in the yard.

Hosts Greg & Beth and canine companions Dixie & Shasta reside on 4.6 acre property and are happy to offer local recommendations!

Cozy little cabin. Enjoyed our stay for the weekend. Enjoyed watching the deer each morning and afternoon. Definitely would stay here again.

This property was beautiful and was nice to be on the outskirts of Downtown Durango. We really enjoyed the secluded, quiet area. The doe and her babies right outside the cabin that we saw one morning was a cool part of it all too. We were really happy with our stay here.

Beautiful view

This place is quiet and has beautiful views of the mountains. It’s close to town and all the amenities Durango offers . We really enjoyed our stay .

Beautiful inside and astounding views through every window. Living room was nice but the master bedroom was the star of this home. Gondola travel was the way to go. Loved being in and around Mountain Village.

Nice mountain getaway

This property was just what we were looking for. Close to sites we wanted to see and just a short drive to all the local shops and restaurants. It’s a perfect destination for a couple looking to experience all that Durango has to offer. Can’t wait for another visit

Amazing!!!

The hosts did an amazing job building this cabin. It's absolutely beautiful!!! Super cozy and inviting. A wonderful spot to relax and soak in the nature/wildlife. Will definitely stay again.

Polar express getaway

Wife and I choose this location as it was just outside of the city but close enough for a quick drive to go anywhere we needed. Got to see some wildlife right outside the windows and woke up to the peaceful sounds of the trees in the wind. Cabin was very clean and host is very hospitable. Would stay here again.

Perfect Cabin for a Snow Trip

The pictures do not do enough justice to how cool the cabin is. I appreciate the detail that Greg put into the cabin. The fact they built the place themselves with wood they sourced and milled on the property makes it even better. The views are amazing and the property was very quiet and well cared for.Greg and Beth are extremely talented and gracious hosts.

We look forward to your stay and wish to share a sneak-peek into how our dream cabin became a reality.

Greg & Beth grew up in small mid-western towns, relocating to Durango, CO in 2004. After years of working in parks & recreation and the brewery & liquor industries, Greg decided to truly apply the knowledge and skills of his 1998 forestry bachelor degree from The Ohio State University.

In 2021, we purchased a sawmill and started harvesting & milling pines from the cabin site & local forests. Countless tedious hours over many months were spent creating the timber structure made of dowel joinery. By spring of 2023, we were 'raising the roof' with cabin completion in August 2024.

Whether watching the sun sink in the western sky, viewing the monsoon rain clouds roll through in the late summer months or gazing out at the snowcapped peaks of Kenebec Pass above La Plata Canyon in the San Juan Mountains, our views are breathtaking!
