Where to start? The owner called me to let me know that they cottage was ready for me and to advise me that his car broke down in the driveway and that he would remove it "at some point". Well he didn't remove it and where his car was parked was the direct path to the cottage so I had to maneuver around his car to unpack my overpacked car.
The cottage smells terrible; a musty smell.
Now onto the beds....the bed on the main floor (the queen) is rock hard and you tilt to the right. luckily I brought my own bedding. The bedding that they had on the bed was stained and had been mended with iron on patches. Gross! The comforter has not been washed for years (I'm guessing). The pillows were disgusting and should not have been on the bed at all. Again, thankfully, I brought my own pillows. I was told by my friend that her accommodations upstairs were not any different. The upstairs has a huge slant on the stairs so be prepared to bump your head.
There is no air conditioning on the main floor so be prepared for that!
The outside furniture has never been cleaned so make sure you bring lots of cleaning supplies.
The kitchen is so old and disgusting that we didn't even cook.
I would NEVER recommend this place and I truly wish that I could get my money back.
My friend and I didn't even stay for the entire 5 days; we left a day earlier. I couldn't stand it any longer it was so disgusting.
I could be that this cottage is meant for people who hunt or fish. I'm not sure but, for me, I was disgusted.
