Great Thanksgiving

My three college age children who are in three different states met my wife and I in NOLA. We loved having a ton of space and the ability to cook for Thanksgiving. This was a luxury of space and exactly what we were looking for.

Place was not clean. Called property management they took care of the problem. Location excellent for catching trolleys, getting food, and household supplies. More than enough space for our family of 10.

My stay at 1222 Carondelet NOLA

The property was as described. I did not stay at the property in this picture. We were comfortable but I had 1 main concern and that is there was only 1 exit. The side door was locked but there were chess pieces and games set up outside that door. Also that could be a safety hazard. Couple of minor housekeeping issues. I would book with Hosteeva again. Their customer service was phenomenal.

Mediocre experience

The air conditioning did not work in the living room area. We contacted hosteeva. They came out on Saturday, but a/c still did not work. You should also put in the description the steep stairs. That was a inconvenience at times.

Jazz Fest stay

The property has a nice open space and having the Bedrooms further down the long hallway made it nice for those that wanted to go to bed while others stayed up later. There are very few bowls, pots, plates etc for the kitchen. We suggest spending 2-300 on inexpensive Walmart kitchen stuff. It would add a lot! Although there are lots of cabinets they are all empty. The house id somewhat in disrepair. ALL toilet seats are loose or broken. Numerous wall plates on outlets are broken. The air vents are hanging on to their slots, the ovens are barely installed and certainly not correctly. There is difficulty in opening and closing the deck glass door. Just not installed correctly. Many of the floor tiles are loose. The steps and walk to the front door are loose or uneven and are a safety hazard. These are not complaints FYI. Just wanting you to know about them. The communication was mediocre. We wanted to see about a later check out and were finally texted after check out. At that time we were gone. You offered a reduced 129 rate for another night but a ridiculous rate for a few extra hours. Just not very hospitable or logical. The house would be in the amazing category with minor effort.

It was fun trip!

Here's the pros and cons.... Location was a touch off the beaten path and required transportation every where due to distance. Downside, even though we were a large group and enjoyed walking, the locals were all very clear that we should not be wandering our area after dark. Upside, the 24 hour trolley was 150 steps from the front door and 50 steps from the Walgreens where you could purchase a one day all ride pass for $3. The overall property management on the phone was clueless, but the local overseer was fantastic. He was accessible every time I called and went over and above to help. The actual property is lovely in the pictures. The craftsmanship up close will have you scratching your head, but it depends on your needs. For us, having a great room for 6 teenagers was perfect! I did not feel comfortable using the ovens as they didn't appear to be installed correctly, but I think it's all in amenity expectations. DoorDash was fantastic and offered a variety of good options. The smaller bathroom off the great room has a door to the patio that needs to be weather proofed. We regularly had bugs for the first few days until we used a towel to cover the base of the door. Ease of having 3 showers for 10 people was great and there were plenty of towels. The washing machine onsite was REALLY helpful and our overall of the unit was positive. The only major downside to the trip was the roof work that woke us up by 7 am EVERY day. I probably would have booked another location had the owner conveyed the repairs during our stay. The workmen were also using straight gasoline to clean the tar... it had us scrambling to exit the building just from the smell. End result... if we are ever back in NOLA, I would definitely rent the location again, but would do a really thorough job of asking questions on building activity.
