First, the home is lovely, spacious and clean. It is in a nice neighborhood and is easily accessible. Beth was a wonderful host. There is highway noise from the expressway that is definitely present.That being said, we were a group of six, well-traveled adults. We have stayed in many VRBO's. This was the FIRST time we ever stayed in someone's personal residence. Honestly, we were all taken aback. The listing did not share this. There is a difference between an investment property that perhaps has a secured owner's closet and a few personal items and this property. This is the primary residence for the owners. They leave before you get there and return after you leave. The dressers are filled with their clothes. You have to live out of your suitcase. The vanity is covered with beauty products, the photos of the couple are on the walls and dressers, freezer is filled with their food, fridge has their stocked condiments, dog beds & bowls still out.They are very generous offering any alcohol that is in the well-stocked cabinet and I doubt that they would mind if you used any condiments from their fridge.We think this should be in the listing.Again, beautiful home, many amenities, great host. We all just felt a bit uncomfortable.

Family Get Together

Perfect set up for a four generation family get together. Beth was a phenomenal host and provided every convenience. Out door setting with pool, porch, eating area was wonderful for a large group. Pool was beautiful and all the pool toys and floats an added benefit for the different level of swimmers. Truly enjoyed our stay and would look to rent again on next stay.

We had a great extended weekend. The house and pool were very nice. Beth was very quick to reply. There was a problem with the AC but Beth did everything to try and get it fixed while we were there.

Too much fun

Great fun. We enjoyed the house and the hosts were great. After going to the Derby we enjoyed relaxing in the pool. Would recommend this house to anyone going to Louisville for the Derby.

THE place to stay!

Our family had a great time here! The house is located close to many of the Louisville tourist attractions, so we never had to drive far to visit the things we wanted to see. While there, we went to the Louisville Slugger Museum, The Kentucky Derby Museum, enjoyed a riverboat cruise, and rented a boat at Taylorsville Lake Marina to go tubing. We found the marina through the owners, and it was perfect! We also ate at Cunningham’s Creekside, another owner recommendation, and we were not disappointed. The backyard pool at the house was a hit with the whole family. We swam every day of our stay! The owners were very welcoming, and Beth was quick to reply to any questions at anytime. The house included extras other places we’ve stayed did not, and we had everything there we needed and more! The *only* downside of the house was that it’s located very close to the interstate and you can definitely hear the constant traffic, however everything else was worth dealing with the noise, and we would recommend the house as THE place to stay!

The best pool and covered deck!

Beth is a very helpful hostess and quick to respond to needs. She was helpful with our request to expand the table to seat all of our large group. The pool was wonderful and a good supply of pool toys was provided. The covered deck by the pool with the TV, was great during the heat of the day and fun for a movie night, poolside. If there was any negative, it would be the lack of kitchen cabinet space for groceries for a large group of people staying for a full week. Thanks for sharing your home!

Nice stay

This was a nice place to stay for a family get-together. Well-appointed home and the pool and outside area were great. A little tight with the closet situation, but we managed. Beth was very responsive and helpful when we needed some of the bedding changed out due to a down feather allergy.

Great home, spacious with a lovely pool. All good except it was the owner's primary home

This house was lovely and perfectly spacious for our stay that included 4 couples and 2 infant children. The pool outside was great and the location was super convenient. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and the owner was very kind. If I had to point anything negative out, all I’d say is that the check in process wasn’t ideal as the house was not entirely ready when we arrived at the appointed check in time. Also, we were not informed that the home was the owner’s primary residence. While that isn’t a deal breaker in and of itself, it comes with some downfalls such as pet hair on the carpets, unfinished laundry in the dryer and not a ton of counter space throughout the home due to the owners personal belongings still being out. Like I said, this wasn't a deal breaker for us and it wasn’t awful. It's just something we would have liked to be informed about in advance if possible. Maybe in the future, the owner could update the description to reflect this. Overall though, it was perfectly fine for our stay and we had a great weekend! Hope this is helpful!

True southern hospitality

Beth is a wonderful host! Her house is beautifully decorated and very clean. She is responsive to questions and provides more amenities than any other home I’ve rented. The pool is perfect and the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could need. We had a great trip!!

A getaway at someone's actual home

The property is nice and it met most of our needs. Beth was a good host and offered my family access to her personal belongings. However, my family wasn’t informed that this property is Beth’s primary residence (until we arrived and she was there) and if we had known we would of never booked this home. The challenges of staying at someone’s home begins with storage space. My family was informed not to open certain closets even though we had suitcases full of clothes. The refrigerator was not the cleanest and we had to place our items next to Beth’s groceries. The oven was dirty, which caused smoking every time it was used. The biggest concern was a noise complaint on our second day. We hadn’t played music no more than 15 min and received a warning that we would be kicked out with no refund if another complaint happened and that it came from 3 houses down. We were uncomfortable from that point forward in fear of being removed from the property and with such an aggressive threat I felt could have been addressed differently.
