Overall, this was an okay rental. Although, I will be hard pressed to stay at a Vacasa location in Moab ever again, which is challenging since they seem to manage a large majority of the non-hotel options in Moab.
Pros:
* The bedrooms were a nice size.
* The bathrooms had plenty of towels, TP, and other necessities.
* There was enough laundry detergent and Dishwasher soap for our 2 week stay.
* The location was perfect for us.
Cons:
* We had a tough time getting into the house. The keypad did not successfully unlock the door. More on this later. The code for the lockbox on the post (not on the door) did not work either. I had to call Vacasa to obtain an alternate code for the lockbox to get a key for the door. Cell reception was also challenging, so this made for a difficult calling experience.
* Porch lights were NOT left on. When we arrived it was dark and made the difficulty getting into the house even more frustrating. Not everyone checks in in the daylight. Leave a light on, especially at this location where you have to walk around the building to access the front door from where the garage is located.
* Cleanliness initially seemed to be okay. However, once we started looking around, it left little to be desired. There are cobwebs throughout the home, WITH living spiders. Cobwebs in the kitchen, in the half bath on the main level (high and low). I would imagine the lower ones would have been caught in basic floor cleaning. C'mon, this is unacceptable Vacasa. Vacuuming also seemed less than adequate. We found several items on the floor that should have been picked up with a vacuum. Our son (3) also found a toy dinosaur under the couch, along with a popped latex balloon. We found a vacuum attachment as well under the couch. I provided this feedback and the Vacasa rep I was speaking to said they would be out to re-clean.
* Regarding the door keypad - The local Vacasa team sent out the head cleaner (maintenance was not available). She changed the batteries and left. We should have checked it before she left. We checked it later and it STILL DID NOT WORK. Turns out, the deadbolt is not fully disengaging from the door jam, so it will never work, even with new batteries. Unless this is corrected, you will never be able to use the digital code on the door.
* While there to fix the door lock, I asked the head cleaner about the cleaning that was promised and she told me they would NOT be doing this. She said they were too busy and with COVID precautions, they could not come out again. Why promise cleaning if the local site will not do this? Seems like a disconnect.
* Although the kitchen was fairly well appointed, I will say they could use to add more teaspoons and dinner forks. There were only 3 teaspoons and 4-5 large forks. I would be nice to have enough smaller spoons, especially for kids.
If I owned this home and knew about these cleaning issues and lack of concern, I would find a different property manager immediately.
