A peaceful spot on the river.

It was very nice, the beds were comfortable. The home was very clean and enjoyed the sunroom watching the rabbits and the deer. Liked the little beach are but could not go out into the water to float due to jelly fish.

Our Stay at Tidewater

Weekend getaway with my husband and family was absolutely wonderful! House is beautifully decorated, well appointed and clean. Loved the location. Quiet yet close enough to restaurants and shops. Communication with host could not have been better. Look forward to staying again!

Everything in the description is true. The house is thoughtfully equipped and beautifully managed. We were so comfortable. The location is perfect for a riverside getaway. We had a great time!

Quiet and Lovely

Needed a weekend get away from lifes daily chores and this was perfect..Quiet and in the country with a river view. Will gladly come back.Katie is a delight to deal with and nothing but gratitude for allowing us to stay.

Perfect waterfront getaway

A return visit to this lovely waterfront home. The views can’t be beat. We enjoyed kayaking, relaxing on the private beach, and fishing. The home is beautifully decorated and was very comfortable for our family of four. Everything was clean and the kitchen had what we needed to cook our meals. The new outdoor shower is a great addition. Hope to be back again!

Lovely house in beautiful setting - private beach a plus!

We loved our time here. The house is plenty big and very well appointed. Everything was very clean. The house was also well stocked with what we needed (we cooked all our meals and the kitchen was great). The views can't be beat - so relaxing to look out at the water from nearly every room. We loved the private beach. It was perfect for our little one to play in the sand. Hughlett nature area was a great morning outing. Highly recommend this rental.

Great time in the Northern Neck

We had a great time and the host is very responsive! We were able to mostly avoid jellyfish and spent a lot of time at the beach at nearby Hughlett Point. They were dealing with some HVAC/leak issues the week we were there which was too bad, but understandably COVID meant it could not easily be addressed while we were there. Owner was very good about following up though!

Wonderful location

Beautiful property. A little something for everyone. A quiet nook for readers, a basket hoop indoors and outdoors for enthusiasts, Water sports equipment (kayaks, floats, wet suits, life jackets etc), a small beach and plenty of sitting areas indoor/outdoors. View of the water from majority of the living spaces. This house felt like home away from home. Thank you for the hospitality. Jelly fish in the waters so take the appropriate precautions if you are concerned, AC unit in the sunroom was not working but the house unit kept it comfortable. P.S: the communication with owners was great and many personalized thoughtful touches the moment we entered the house! Hoping to be back!

Great hosts who checked in with us via messaging on arrival to make sure we had everything. House is very cute and views of water from house are beautiful.Hughlett point, horn harbor restaurant were close by (15min) and great to visit. We also utilized the kayak, saw baby deer in the yard, and relaxed in the sunroom.Great WiFi signal. Def would stay again!

Beautiful views for a restful stay

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely location. The house was comfortable and nicely furnished. The waterfront views from the house, patio and deck cannot be beat.

Relaxing week

We had such a great week here. The house has everything you need and the property is beautiful. We loved sitting by the water and kayaking. There was a family of deer who visited a couple times. And the sunsets over the river were amazing!!!!

Beautiful hide-away

This place is a gem. The house was beautiful and clean, they had everything I could have asked for. We had an issue with the grill and the owners response was immediate and we were grilling in no time. The water was amazing, but there are quite a few jellyfish in the water though, so bring some meat tenderizer! We were there a week and enjoyed every moment. Thank you for an amazing first VRBO experience!

Wonderfully relaxing! Totally unplugged!

We loved the walk thru the enchanted forest to the river, paddling on the river was great. We saw all kinds of wildlife, even cow-nosed rays in one of the creeks! We toured the area and saw the land that was part of my husband's 10th great-grandfather's property. The view of the river from the house is perfect.

beautiful house on beautiful property

We had a very nice week here. My husband worked and my daughter did zoom school. The house is even bigger and nicer than the pictures. The view of the water was beautiful from both inside and outside the house. We enjoyed the river and kayaks. We hope to stay here again.

Perfect Retreat

The property was absolutely as pictured and described, the perfect, peaceful water retreat we were after. The house itself is well laid out, plenty of space, comfortable and clean. The kitchen is well-equipped. The views are a balm to the soul. The weather cooperated, so we were able to kayak and enjoy the outdoor fire pit. Katie, the owner, was so responsive and great to work with. From the bottle of wine, s’mores fixings and whimsical holiday-themed Turkey cookie kit waiting for us when we arrived to the folding table supplied to give us all important space to eat outside during these times, we felt welcomed and supported. Just wonderful and we will definitely be back!

Our family purchased this second home in 2019 in order to spend time on the water and enjoy the slower pace of the Northern Neck. Having grown up in S.C. at the beach, we wanted our children to also experience the joys of time spent on the water and in nature. We love the area and have garnered the same feedback from guests who have stayed at Tidewater. Waking up to the calm and quiet has been a welcome change from our busy lives in the Washington D.C. area. The home is private with woods and wetlands. The private beach is accessible through a wooded path (3ish minute walk on property to the water). The amount of beach varies by the tide. There is always a spot to slip kayaks and floats in but amount of sand varies. We have spent many hours down at the water and on the water exploring the area. Even kayaking to the restaurant across the way.

The seclusion and private surroundings make for a relaxing get away. Outdoor space to kick back in the morning or evening = feels like vacation!
