Welcome to our serene and charming waterfront cottage, nestled in the tranquil setting of Southern Maryland, just before the scenic Point Lookout State Park.
Our waterfront cottage is the ideal getaway, offering an unparalleled blend of natural beauty and modern comforts. With stunning views of Tanners Creek as it winds into the Chesapeake Bay, the cottage provides a serene atmosphere where you can truly relax and unwind while being surrounded by nature. Whether you're soaking in the breathtaking sunrise from the dock or enjoying a quiet evening on the deck, this is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle. And with Washington, D.C. under two hours away, you can enjoy the beauty of Southern Maryland without venturing too far from the city.

Inside, you'll find a cozy and thoughtfully designed space that combines comfort with elegance. The cottage features a master bedroom with water view and a second bedroom, as well as a spacious open great room with a sofa bed. The stunning waterfront scenery is never far away - whether you’re relaxing in the living area or stepping outside, the natural beauty will surround you at every turn. You’ll also find all the comforts of home, including high-speed Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen, a washer/dryer, and plush bedding to ensure you enjoy a relaxing and restful stay.

Start your day with coffee on the dock as the sun rises over the water, or enjoy the peaceful surroundings in the great room. Explore the serene beach, watch for eagles and osprey, or take a kayak out to open waters of the Chesapeake Bay. Our property offers the perfect balance of outdoor adventure and peaceful relaxation, with a variety of activities for all guests.

Then in the evening, gather around the outdoor fire pit in the evening to enjoy s’mores, roast hot dogs, or share stories under the stars while sitting in comfy Adirondack chairs. The clear night skies provide the perfect backdrop for stargazing and enjoying the tranquility of the outdoors that is unpolluted from city lights. We provide a comprehensive check-in book to help with trip planning and offer helpful details for your stay. Guest can purchase firewood rightacross the street and use the outdoor fire pit.

Try your luck fishing or crabbing off the dock with the provided pots, and while you wait for your catch, head to nearby Point Lookout State Park. Take a walk through history, visit the lighthouse, or relax at the public beach. For a fun day trip, hop on the Smith Island ferry and treat yourself to a slice of their famous cake. This property was beautiful. The neighbors were friendly and welcoming. The area was secluded and inside is larger than the photos. The owner was extremely responsive and we enjoyed S'mores at the fire pit as well as using the grill. Rooms were clean. Bathroom was clean. We brought games but the property has a wide selection of games. The kitchen was fully equipped. They even had seasonings for cooking. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone looking for a secluded quiet comfortable place to relax.

The cottage was clean and welcoming. The location can't be beat. It is right on the water, quiet and nearby point lookout. Great place to visit and walk our dogs. The property owners were responsive and gave us a nice list of things to do around the area. Would definitely stay again!

House was very clean and kitchen well equipped. We cooked inside because it was cold out but would have considered the grill if staying longer. We came to watch the orionid meteor shower and wanted to be in a location without much light pollution.

The location and the view were amazing! Such an abundance of wildlife! Deer, heard a fox, and the birds! Heron, ducks, geese, bluebirds, eagles- and as we were leaving found the eagle nest, next to the house as they came screeching in. Beautiful dark sky for star gazing. The house is good, beds comfy, had all the amenities and supplies. Struggled a bit with the wall heaters ended up using the portable heaters. It was a cold weekend. I agree with the other reviewer that it could use a deep clean, especially floors, corners, baseboards. The deck is a bit wonky, need to be careful with footing. But you cannot beat the location! Would love to visit in the warmer months!

Best place to stay ever!!!! This place is a 10 out of 10!! Beautiful interior! The dock was excellent! We even caught 13 crabs!!! Internet was fast and accurate! Plenty of dishes and cookware! Beds were ao comfortable! Sooooo quiet! And, the eagle sat in a tree everyday! We will DEFINITELY be back!

Peaceful Getaway with Beautiful Views and Wildlife

I had a wonderful stay at this cozy waterfront cottage. The listing was accurate, and the serene setting made for a relaxing getaway. The home was clean, well-equipped, and the views were stunning. We especially enjoyed watching the deer and fiddler crabs. Highly recommend for a peaceful retreat.

Wonderful spot!

We had a blast at this place! Right on a calm creek in total serenity. Wildlife abounds (bald eagles, osprey, millions of little crabs, even a river otter). At the end of the road and adjacent to Point Lookout State Park. Bring bikes and you can enter the park free for a beautiful ride. We can’t wait to go back.

Great quiet location with pleanty of wildlife.

The location is very secluded and full of wildlife. Heron and bald eagles were constantly flying, hunting, and nesting. The estuary is well-protected, yet opens directly to the bay. The dock is private and has plenty of sitting space. There is a location on the beach for good kayak access.

Property was exactly what we were expecting from the listing. It was perfect for our family of four to get away for needed time together away from the normal. Beautiful setting on the marsh. Saw a ton of water birds, owls, and many bald eagle sightings (including three separate eagles at once). We went in January, and the highs were mid to low 30s. It was cold, as we expected it to be, but between layering up and the 4 separate plug in room heaters provided by the host, it was the right kind of cold winter cozy. Kitchen well stocked. We cooked a lot. Nearby state and county parks were wonderful for long family walks and explorations. And you can run from the house directly into point lookout state park. Loved it. Would absolutely try it again and see what the marsh is like other times of the year.

Our stay at this cozy cottage was generally really good! Pros:- Loved that this placed was generally private, secluded, and had water access! They included boats, kayaks, and a stand up paddle board! The house next door is definitely a weekend or summer home so we weren’t near other people at all!- The cottage was incredibly affordable!- The beds were so comfy, I had the best sleep ever here.- The hosts were communicable, so friendly, and genuinely wanted us to have a great time! They made many accommodations for us to make sure we had fun!- This home is pet friendly!Cons- Photos aren’t totally accurate anymore, there’s a big AC in the living room, many boards of the deck have detached, home isn’t as clean as in the photos, broken back step- We were bothered multiple times by Jehovah’s Witnesses, even though the home is in a private community. It was so unsettling as a group of women in our bathing suits for a van of men to pull up to the house - Grill was really dirty, like caked with dirt that the propane couldn’t flow to all parts of the grill. Grill brush was unusable.We informed the owners and they were incredibly responsive and said they would fix these issues! I think a deep cleaning of the house and fixing up session of the deck by their property manager would be just what this home needs to be back to its original glory!

Our cozy cottage is unique in that it’s the very last property that is adjacent to Point Lookout National Park. Enjoy our private dock, beaches, and our provided kayaks and stand-up paddleboard on protected waters in Tanners Creek. Guests can also adventure out to Chesapeake Bay. Other water activities include fishing, crabbing, swimming or just enjoying a picnic next to the waters.
