Amazing location!

This house was the perfect size, an ideal location and an awesome view of the sunrise! We had an amazing weekend there to hike, dine and see the beautiful fall colors.

Weekend getaway

We really enjoyed staying in a different part of Duluth, and the house is a perfect spot to access other parts of the city. The rooms are very comfortable and the kitchen well stocked and the decor promotes local artists - thank you Linda!

Amazing views

Art filled house

Great location for our group to spend time at hawk ridge and also to journey up north shore. We enjoyed the variety of art around the house. It was clean and comfortable place to stay.

Duluth delight

We were so impressed with the house and it was completely stocked with everything you would need. Great porch to watch sunrise. Great views of lake and downtown.

Best view in Duluth!

We had an absolute amazing time visiting Linda’s property and the house was just gorgeous. Beautiful artwork throughout and wonderful personal touches. The view was spectacular from the deck and the bedroom. Can’t wait to stay again!

Perfect get-away!

This house in Duluth is perfect for smaller groups of family or friends. The view of the lake is breathtaking, and the house has such personal touches--carefully selected artwork on the walls, a kitchen with high quality cookware, appliances, and comfortable bedrooms. I can't wait to stay there again! It was so easy to work with the owner, too!

Inviting home with breathtaking views

We enjoyed the panoramic view of Duluth- Superior from the warm, welcoming song of the Red House on the hill. Linda is a very responsive and gracious host, responding quickly to messages and even providing freshly frozen crepes for our enjoyment. I will definitely look to stay here again!

Unbelievable views!

What a beautiful home for time away. Linda is a wonderful host with an incredible home looking down over the city. Views from every window and a great front porch for both morning coffee and a glass of wine in the evening. The house is in a great location and equipped with everything you could need. Look forward to going back!

Wonderful house with superior views

It’s a beautifully decorated house - a gem with superior views of the lake and the city. The house was immaculately clean. Cosy bedrooms, fully stacked kitchen, wood fireplace, close to restaurants, neighborhood shopping, and Canal Park. The host, Linda, was very attentive and hospitable. I highly recommend the Red House on the Hill!

Fun place - our new favorite in Duluth

This house had everything for us: phenomenal artwork, fully stocked kitchen that looked I brought all my favorite cooking items, treats, comfortable beds, and allowed our senior dog. Normally we look for rustic places in this area, but being in town for a wedding had me thinking differently and I am so happy to have found this place. Lynda is a professional host and made everything very easy.

Beautiful View in a Cozy, Relaxing House

Linda’s house has the dream view of Duluth. It was super quiet and easy to find. There was a wood fireplace, which was extremely handy on the cold nights we stayed. She left some nice touches, like the xylophone pieces of the front door with my initials and fresh baked bread. Also, her kitchen is a dream! We definitely plan on staying again the next time we are up in Duluth.

The VIEWS!!!

What a place! This location was great while visiting our daughter at UMD for parents weekend. Quick drive to all areas, Canal Park, Lincoln Park area, and campus. Very comfortable and inviting home with touches of whimsy and fun! We loved having a fireplace too! We will definitely be back. Thank you Linda!

A lil slice of paradise in Duluth

This home is fabulous. The rooms, beds & linens are very comfortable & the master bedroom has spectacular views of the lift bridge & Lake Superior that you see simply by lifting your head off the pillow. The kitchen is literally better equipped than my own kitchen & coffee is provided! Views of the lift bridge & Lake Superior are spectacular from the kitchen & the living room. Literally close to everything. A grand place to stay in Duluth!

Outstanding Experience

Everything about our stay at The Red House was amazing! Our favorite part was the view! We spent hours sitting on the porch watching the ships come and go into the harbor. The kitchen was definitely a cooks kitchen with everything you could want and more! If you are looking for a central location, 5 min drive to downtown and quick access the the highway, look no further. Linda was a great host and great with communication. Thanks for everything Linda!

This was a wonderful place to stay in Duluth. So close to the harbor and downtown, yet in a neighborhood. It had everything we needed and more, and our host was always in contact in case we needed anything, which we didn't! Although it was close to a busy road, the windows were well insulated so we slept soundly with minimal road noise, and we are light sleepers. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was super nice and very well equipped with anything we might imagine we might need. And the art throughout the home was so incredible! We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

I loved this place. Great views of Canal Park and Lake Superior. The hostess was gracious and easily available. Interesting art and decor (in a good sense). I would enjoy staying here again, but there are a few downsides to be aware of: it’s not a walkable location so it’s a drive to shopping, dining, and sightseeing. There are several steps to the front door and to the bedrooms, and the bathrooms are small. That didn’t bother me, but could be a problem for some. I would stay here again.

Linda’s house was the perfect spot for three of us to enjoy a girls’ getaway. The views overlooking the harbor were spectacular-far better than what you’d have from a hotel down in Canal Park. The house was so cozy and eclectic. Each day we’d exclaim over some new piece of art we’d discover! Linda was very accommodating and easy to work with. We’d highly recommend a stay at the red house on the hill!

In addition, I work closely with the Lake Superior Circle Tour Adventure Guide & The Reader, a local newspaper. You’ll find these guides in my VRBO. :-)

I grew up in the east end of Duluth, lived in Arizona for 5 years, Toronto for 6 years and returned home to raise my son in this great city, in 1996.

I love living on the hillside and It gives me such joy to share this place with visitors.
In August 2020, I bought the little grey house (circa 1890) directly above The Red House on the Hill. :-)

I love to cook and bake. Creating a great meal or treat brings me joy. I hope you’ll stay!
