Shugafoot was perfect for a relaxing week at the beach. Mark was an exceptional host and responded quickly to all questions. The cottage was clean and very comfortable for bringing a pet. The evenings were quiet and the location was convenient to food and shopping.

Great winter stay at the beach

The house was just the right size for our family (and could have fit a few more) the location was excellent, and we loved watching dolphins from the front porch. Great sunsets and beautiful stargazing. The host was also very attentive (thank you, Mark!). We would definitely come again.

Great Location

I can't say enough about this place, we have stayed here a couple time and hope to stay again in the future. Great dog friendly house and perfect location for a weekend away, not far from the bridge and right on the beach. The house was clean and the kitchen pretty well stocked with everything we needed.

Beautiful view

Location could not be beat. Steps from the ocean and protected by a substantial dune. Hearing the waves as we fell asleep in the comfortable king bed was a plus. Sadly the place needs updating to be clean enough for us to come back.

Excellent stay

We had a great time directly on the beach! House was very comfy and had everything we needed. Our dog was just happy to be the deck looking out.

Place was in a great location on the beach. Ocean view from deck is not as pictured. See pics from our stay. House is a bit tired looking despite some updates. Be aware that you have to buy supplies like trash bags, dishwasher soap, laundry detergent, fabric softener and everything for cooking including basic spices. Beds aren’t made up on arrival but linens are provided. Maybe this is all standard for this area but not typical of other stays at vacation re talks, so be aware. Die the cost and view, we didn’t think this was a good value.

Kitty Hawk Vacay!

We had a wonderful stay at Shugafoot. Right on the beach is a huge priority for us, and this cottage does not disappoint. Our doggies loved the fenced in deck.

Love the beach, property nice.

Other the Tropical Storm/Hurricane Debby causing a trip to be wet, the trip went well. This is our fifth time to the Outer Banks and we love this part of America. The house was very nice, just needs a little updating and refining.

Snowed in!

Everything was clean and organized. Sheets and towels provided which is not common! Rooms were a great size and everything was pretty kid friendly. I must mention the book! The Little Blue Cottage book was such a hit that we have already found it on Amazon! ordering when we get home.

Great deck and nice kitchen

Quiet and private area. Close to several restaurants and grocery stores. Loved the deck. Kitchen was very nice and well equipped. Little rough around the edges but nice place to spend the week.

Great cottage on the beach!

This house was perfect for my husband and I and our two dogs. The location is amazing and you can’t beat the views. We loved sitting on the porch watching the dolphins every morning! I brought a pot and pan with me based on other reviews, but found the kitchen accommodations were more than enough for a few days at the beach! Great stay!!

Relaxed and happy

That’s how we felt, relaxed and happy staying at Shugafoot. The views are beautiful and the beach is right over the dune. Coming back from the beach we appreciated the outdoor shower to rinse off. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, dishes etc.. The King bed was comfortable as well as the queen. We loved the huge deck to have coffee in the morning and later wine. Overall the place was great!

Relax at the OBX

It’s hard to be closer to the surf than this cottage! So convenient when setting up chairs on the beach, or when dolphin watching from the covered deck. Really enjoyed our getaway! Though be very careful when backing out from the driveway, the view to the road is a bit limited.

2023 Kitty Hawk Vacation

Each year our family rents a house in different location along the Outer Banks. This year we chose Kitty Hawk. We loved the beach front property and convenient walk to the beach. The deck view was fabulous. Our favorite part is that the place was pet friendly and equipped with a doggie gate on the deck. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

Wonderful Beach House!!

The location is excellent, close to everything, and directly on the beach. A lot of the house has been remodel and the older parts are well kept. The kitchen is beautiful and has everything you need. The ocean front deck was by far my favorite part of this house. It is the whole length of the house and we loved that half of it was covered. We would definitely stay here again!!

Amazing location

Shugafoot is literally right on the beach. It is awesome. There is a front porch that runs the width of the house and you could sit outside for hours watching the surf. Everything was very comfortable and cozy. We were there in February so of course we didn’t swim, but we did walk in the beach a lot and we certainly enjoyed that front porch. We had a wonderful stay!

Even better than we expected

The host was friendly, great communication and help. The property is ON the beach, just a dune and there it is. The views from nearly all the rooms in the house are mesmerizing. The kitchen is modern and well-equipped, and the new beds are spacious and comfortable. Excellent wi-fi and cable. Plenty of parking. Our Havanese, Dickens, was also comfortable, and loved the beach. Recommend the Black Pelican and Hurricane Mo's. Touring the Wright Memorial, including climbing Kill Devil Hill, is a must. We had a great time, and found it to be a good value.
