We had a wonderful stay for a few nights on our family vacation! The house was clean and the views were gorgeous! I would recommend this house it was convenient to Bar Harbor and Acadia was about a half hour drive.

My wife and I and another couple truly enjoyed this house and property. The views of the bay off the deck at all times of day are spectacular. The quiet location was the perfect relaxing spot to return after full days in all parts of Acadia NP and Bar Harbor. The kitchen was well stocked for preparing meals. The owner was very responsive and the instructions and descriptions were 100% accurate and helpful. We highly recommend this home for a base for enjoying Acadia.

Peaceful spot with lovely gardens. It felt like staying in a nature preserve. The home was well cared for and very clean. Two things worth knowing: the water views are best at high tide, as the flats are exposed when it goes out, and you're a solid 35-45 minutes from Acadia and Bar Harbor. Neither bothered us, but plan accordingly if you're set on daily park access or a constant water view. We didn't use the kitchen, but it was well stocked. Thank you for the use of the coolers and the coffee maker!

Thanks for staying Jeff and mentionning the tidal bay! The tides bring in the fish for the eagles and ospreys that feed in our Bay. The mud flats at low tide offer wading birds a chance to feed on the animals that live in the mud. This is the reason why our rental is so interesting and many renters love to experience! Also the everchanging vista created by the tides with the clouds and the sunrise and sunsets over the bay make for quite a change of scenery every hour....

The property was as nice as advertised. The landscaping was outstanding. We enjoyed the fire pit and the access to the water. The view from the living room couch reminded me of a scenic painting, which captures the vibe of this location. The beds were more firm than we prefer, but nothing a good quality mattress pad cannot fix. I only wished that we had spent one more day at this place to rent kayaks or canoes to take advantage of the water access.

The house was very comfortable. It’s very clean and well stocked. The owners thought everything out well. It was a perfect size for our party of 5 people. It allowed us space to be alone as well as comfortable gathering areas. The views were great. The landscape was beautiful. The deck chairs were perfect for spending time in. The beds were standard. Everything was put together well for a shared property. Upfront I was a little concerned with getting “rules”and reminders sent to me several times. However, once we got there and relaxed, the household “notes” became more helpful. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and we are thankful for the opportunity to visit the place. Thank You.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property. It is true, the pictures do not capture its splendor. It is secluded, clean, spacious and the views are spectacular! This was an annual trip for us to Maine (year 15) and one of the best in terms of location and proximity to attractions. The hosts showed gracious hospitality and we look forward to returning in the near future.

The house and landscaping was beautiful. We loved sitting outside. The owner was very helpful when I had questions about the area. This was a great location for Acadia and Bar Harbor. The owner provides extra so you don’t feel like you have to go shopping for all the little essentials. Great place!

We loved our stay. The house is set and landscaped beautifully! Every window offers beautiful views. The area is quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to shopping and restaurants. We took day trips to BarHarbor and Acadia National Park and spent our evening relaxing and playing games. Use of the pool table was well worth the fee!

Home was perfect! Clean, comfortable, completely stocked with everything we needed. Loved the lower decks with Adirondack chairs. View was amazing and different every day with bright sun, fog and moonlight. Very nice.

We want you to enjoy your stay, and upon request, we can provide information about the local area highlights, restaurants, stores, and services. We have maps of the National Park and we are happy to provide information about what the town Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park has to offer.

For us, this rental home location is so convenient to stores and dining opportunities in the city of Ellsworth and the historic town of Hancock. The area surrounding the house is safe and quiet. Hannaford and Shaws grocery stores, a Walmart Super Store, ethnic and take-out restaurants are only a 10 minute drive away in Ellsworth. The town of Hancock and Franklin are picturesque and have an interesting history, and have great dining opportunities and local attractions. Acadia National Park offers carriage roads for walking & biking, wooded hiking trails, and ocean views along the Park Loop road. The entrance onto Mount Desert Island is a 20 minute drive, and the town of Bar Harbor is 35 minute drive from your rental. Bike & kayak rentals are available in Bar Harbor as well as restaurants, brewery’s, craft shops and whale watching tours. If you have time, visit Schoodic, the sister part of Acadia National Park, located on the mainland across the bay from Mt. Desert Island. This Park also has carriage trails, a loop road along a magnificent shoreline and a visitor center. If you like fishing, one of the best lakes in Maine is Tunk Lake which is just down the road from the rental. In its deep waters reside fish such as trout, land-locked salmon, and togue. For a possible day trip, drive 80 miles to Campobello Island in Canada, the summer home of the Roosevelts. Lamoine State Park is a short distance away on Frenchman's Bay and offers tent sites and a boat launch.

Kayak rentals are also available a very short drive down the road from the house. During the 4 hour or more period of high tide, the water is deep enough and, weather permitting, you can kayak around Taunton Bay from the shore. A great nearby walking or biking option is the Sunrise Trail located in the town of Franklin that has parking access. It's a wide dirt trail that allows ATV's and bicycles and is a beautiful way to enjoy the Maine Down East coast from Ellsworth to the Canadian Border.
