I reserved this property for my family for a very special Christmas experience. Caroline, the property manager handled the transaction. This was an expensive trip so after paying and completing everything that was required we felt that everything was set....I made this reservation in May of 2021 so at least six months out.....The night before my rental was to start at 5:30 in the evening I received a phone call from Caroline who asked if we could delay our start date because a film crew had rented the house and it needed to be cleaned and returned to its normal set up....This is insane !!! My wife and I were already in Santa Fe and our children were halfway driving from Houston. I insisted that she honor the arrival date because there wasn't anything left in town for eight people. We did manage to get in the house and they were still cleaning until 5 o'clock (checkin was three). the house was filthy, dust balls everywhere and you could tell the cleaning was a rush job. My wife vacuumed most of the house herself. There is a terrible ant infestation in the house and some of the bathroom sinks don't drain, the house needs to to professionally cleaned and the walls touched up, it felt heavily used ! There was even fake blood on a column outside the back door, the filming crew was evidently filming a horror movie.??? Caroline never once apologised for causing such anxiety and stress... I would not rent this house again or use Caroline, I would not trust her, So, after renting this property six months out and leaving it in better condition than we received it, I expect more from the rental agent and property condition.
