Last year we stayed in the smaller cabin and enjoyed it ,this year the larger home was available so we booked it ...on several occasions vehicles would just randomly drive down to the property and just drive thru and exit some as early as 4 am ,a little concerning when awakened by loud exhaust ..other than that it was a great stay ...Definitely booking again

Great location!

We stayed during what was likely the hottest day of any year in Maine and the temperature outside was 99F, but the house was cool and comfortable. During our stay we say foxes, groundhogs, deer, and moose! It was very quiet and peaceful.

Great stay in Bowdoinham

Wonderful house and property in a peaceful spot on the water. Accessible to Bath, Freeport, Portland, and Boothbay Harbor. Loved this place and would go again.

Beautiful Views

We loved this home with its gorgeous views. We rented kayaks for our stay. As others said, the road going in was difficult to maneuver with a car that is low to the ground. We definitely would stay here again.

very peaceful location and spacious home

The home is very spacious and comfortable and the fireplace is nice. The dock is not available off-season so we were not able to go sit on the dock with coffee. The morning sunrise is lovely if it's clear out. The garage is not available to use. The bed downstairs (the one we used) is VERY comfortable. You do have a couple neighbors, and although they aren't super close, there are no window coverings at all, even in the bedrooms.

The reviews said the house was so well appointed that they had everything you could possibly need. We did not find that to be true. Bring your own coffee filters if you want coffee, extra rolls of toilet paper because only three were provided for five people for the week. There’s definitely a bunch of stuff in the kitchen but it looks like it’s just whatever has been left behind by previous guests. For example, if you’re looking to cook, there is no salt, but you can find gummy zinc vitamins in the cabinet. My best advice would be to come with absolutely everything you would need to live with for a week. Also, there is not one mention of the driveway in the listing. We rented a van for this trip and an SUV was necessary. The driveway is so rutted out that we almost couldn’t make it in. We drug in several places, which was terrible because it was not our vehicle After staying for a week, we figured out a pathway to get in and out, but it was definitely a challenge. You should know that it is only air-conditioned downstairs with no window coverings and an open loft upstairs it was extremely hot if you’re not in the master. Between it being hot upstairs and the sun rising over the water directly into this cabin, sleep was a major challenge. There is no insulation between the upstairs and the downstairs so when the people upstairs start walking around, it sounds like they are falling through the floor. As everyone else mentions the place is beautiful but seems unfinished.

Relaxing getaway

Beautiful and relaxing getaway. Wonderful for families and couples! Note to families of young children: there are no blinds in the house which makes for late to bed, early to rise toddlers! But the swimming in the backyard makes up for it!

Beautiful house with a gorgeous view of the bay

Clean, comfortable and cozy. Amazing sunrise views across the bay and abundant wildlife including bear, deer, eagles and coyote sightings. Didn’t even mind having to shovel the sidewalk to the entrance as it is winter in Maine. Would definitely stay again.

I wanted a change of WFH scenery. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Beautiful sunrises, lots of light. Close to town. Would recommend.

Nice home in a lovely setting

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was clean and inviting. I agree there could have been more seating options, but it was perfect for my family of 4. The kids loooooved the tree swing. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely Stay

The home was very clean. The location was very quiet and peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay. The only issue is the upstairs is an open loft and the noise travels also if there are more than 2 in your group there is not really comfortable seating in the living room, there is only a couch which worked fine for 2 people but if there are more there is no comfortable seating in the living room.

Girls trip to Maine to sightsee and eat lobster!

We loved the view! It was awesome! We loved the fire pit, and all the windows in the home. We would had enjoyed the living room more if we had enough seating for 6 people, also outside, chairs for 6 would have been nice. It would have been nice to have shutters or blinds on the bathroom windows. All in all, we enjoyed our time there.

This house has a gorgeous view and was clean and beautiful. We enjoyed the dock and access to the water for using our sups! We loved seeing eagles! We were frustrated at the lack of chairs in the living room! There is one couch and we had 6 people staying there! There were only 4 outdoor seats. We were glad we had beach chairs with us! Other than the above, would have given it 5 stars!

Great Views!

We love this property overlooking Merrymeeting Bay. The house is very nice. The patio is great. There were a few cigarette butts in the grooves of the pavers. The bed upstairs is very noisy and disturbs the bedroom below. The living room is in need of 2 comfortable chairs. This was our second time renting and will again.

Relaxing by the bay

The property was very nice and well equipped for a group of four. As others have mentioned, screens to keep out bugs and blinds for privacy and to keep out light would be very much appreciated. The property would also be enhanced with more outdoor furniture.
