We had the most amazing 12 days at Villa Pisani in June 2022. First off, I can’t say enough good things about Villa manager Lorenzo and his pre-trip communication. He was responsive to my questions, generous with information about the area and activities we could arrange, and flexible when it came to schedule changes we had to make. On check-in day, we were welcomed with a fridge full of wine, beer, milk & water, and supplies for the next morning’s breakfast, as Lorenzo knew we had had a long day of travelling and no easy access to groceries. The villa itself was well-equipped, and almost every “essential” for bathroom, cleaning, and cooking was available. There are lots of levels to this villa, so it’s easy to take a lot of wrong turns, lol, but it was comfortable and private for our friend group of 4 couples. We only used the top floor bedrooms, but there are at least two more on the lower level for larger groups. The grounds and views, especially from the top terrace, were spectacular. It is truly a million-dollar view of sunsets and Capri, and we were fortunate to have great weather for 10 of our 12 days.
The owner’s wife Anna Maria cooked an elaborate lunch for us one afternoon. Do this. She is an amazing cook. She fed 8 of us a 4-course lunch for a 100Euro grocery bill plus 100E for her time. So very worth it. Her husband Camillo (the owner) is a hoot. The Villa was his family home.
Lorenzo bbq’d for us one evening as well - so yum. He also helped arrange for us pizza delivery one night. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and he routinely checked up on us to ensure we had everything we needed.
Bottom line. Massa Lubrense (the region) is a lovely area with many interesting towns & villages, and everything you could need within a reasonable ambit. It is also well-placed to access both the Amalfi Coast and the Bay of Naples areas, with a local Marina nearby from which to charter a private boat, or join a group outing on the water. (Do this. Amalfi by water is unbeatable.) The Villa is comfortable, very well-loved and lived-in, with a view that alone is worth the price. The photos cannot do it justice. You will not find a more congenial host than Lorenzo (or Camillo). Do not hesitate to book.
