We found this beautiful villa on VRBO. As we looked at the pictures online, we smiled at the awesome grandeur with hopes that it would satisfy our dream wishes. Upon arrival, we saw that it was everything it ought to have been. The place was enchanting. It was laid out in a style which comfortably established sleeping and private space for our very large group, which was sixteen in all the first couple of nights. Not only were the separate bedrooms adequate, but it accommodated us together well also, as we rested and dined on the poolside terrace, after cooking some Italian cuisine in the airy kitchen.
When we got there, Marco and Pasquale were easy to work with, making arrangements easy. Very well done, Guys! They were available, after too, but we had no problems.
If there were some things to discover for guests to critique, it was little indeed. One could mention that it was an easy walk downwards to the villa, on foot, as we had to park a ways away, but that it was much harder walking up the stair-like path to go out. This could be a problem if someone has an illness, or health problems, or advanced age. However, we saw this as a good opportunity for exercise, as if in a hike. One could find it to be exhilarating with the right attitude if one is generally healthy. The mule, carrying our loads at the end, was an added and fun bonus. Another slight critique to mention: for Americans, hot water was great, but towels were not abundant. We have heard that Italians do it this way, with fewer towels, and it worked out fine. No real complaints, as there was a washer and detergent, and plenty of drying rack space in the warm outside air. There was a huge dining table inside, but other living room space was a bit more sparing. We were on the roomy terrace a lot, especially in the evening, and no one complained once about lacking somewhere to sit. The bedrooms' sizes more than made up for any lack of living room seating. The view from the balconies was enormous and gorgeous.
So the breathtaking view was magnificent, the rooms were spacious and immaculate, the terrace at night was bliss, the pool was clean. The yard was beautiful. The bells ringing out from the town each hour were a favor from the past which we savored. We loved our stay there. It was sentimentally Italian, it was a Mediterranean seaside with the view, it was a modern opportunity to live that which is seldomly tangible. Lots of memories to last a lifetime from there, and the Amalfi area.
