Hidden Gem

Sweet little comfortable condo with everything you need to enjoy your time on beautiful Sanibel. The unit is clean and spacious. Enjoy mature landscaping, a heated pool and a short walk to the beach.

Sweet place but could use a little attention to cleanliness.

We booked this unit for a little 3 night add on to a week long stay at another location. On a side note, it can be difficult to find places to stay for shorter than 1 week so we were thankful. The complex is older and has a sweet feeling about it. All of the vacationers were kind and we met some super sweet people! The unit itself looks to have been recently renovated. The kitchen had all of the things we needed which was great! The living room had ample seating, and the overall space was nice. The unit was very dark though with not much natural light at all. The back sliding doors (living room) backed to a forest of palm trees so no sunlight entered the room. We knew the until did not have an ocean view, but after staying there we really did miss that. A few things that could use improvement: The bathroom needs a deep cleaning. Lots of random hairs. I used my own Clorox wipes to wipe down the tops of the baseboards in the bathroom (hair), the underside of the toilet bowl, the base of the toilet bowl (around the bolts) and the underside of the toilet seat. There is some mildew/mold growing on the tile grout that could easily be bleached. There are some baskets that are above the bedroom TV and we thought these were for storage, but after pulling one out, we realized they are being used to store paint cans, tarps etc. I feel like these items should be stored offsite. The bedroom has a bed spread and pillow shams and throw pillows. Although they look nice, I’m just not certain that they are washed after every guest (based on the bathroom cleanliness) so that made us a bit uneasy. There is laundry onsite $2 (quarters only) but no change machine and the office closes at 5? So I had to run around town to try to find quarters for the dryer. (I should have planned ahead) Overall, it was ok for a 3 night stay, but could use some deep cleaning especially in the bathroom and the bedding.

Great Thanksgiving Stay

We stayed in C8 over Thanksgiving. The staff was very friendly, and the condo was perfect! It came with four beach chairs and an umbrella. We were away from the busyness, but still close enough to go out and dine. We went to a few different beaches for shelling, and had a great time! The condominium even has a place to rinse your shells! The staff helped us tremendously. My husband and I forgot to empty out a drawer, and it had some boxer briefs, and more importantly, our money bag! They mailed it all to us, and we’re so great about it! We cannot wait to come back next year, and C8 is where we will stay!

Colony inn

Our stay was very pleasant beach was a short walk away only a few min. The beach was very nice and not crowded. The property was very nice ,lush green with beautiful native foliage. Our condo was very clean . And furinture very neat and comfortable accommodations were definitely adequate. Would recimmend and would definitely stay here again.

Nice Visit

We had a very nice stay. Close walk to the beach. Two beach chairs are provided. We liked that bikes were available to rent for the week. Would definitely stay here again!

Clean, as expected, enjoyable stay

Check-in process could be better explained in the check-in email sent out a few days before date of arrival. 10/10 for cleanliness (except microwave was pretty gross.) Happy the office provided beach towels so I didn’t have to pack them. Pool area was nice and walk to beach is literally 2 minutes. A great property for singles or a couple. Bed was comfortable. Quiet area. Tiny kitchen but perfect for those who prefer to eat out and just use it for small meals, breakfast, and lunch. Living area was spacious and comfortable. Highly recommend!

Close to beach !

All was great except vrbo listed the property as Pet friendly and it was not. They honored our stay but I was disappointed in the inaccurate listing .

Great Get Away

Very clean! We did not use the kitchen, it’s vacation! The bed is comfortable and the beach is convenient and close! The beach chairs were wonderful to have, we only wish a beach umbrella and beach towels were included. We would stay here again!!

Very nice

Close to a lovely beach - beautiful walk. Nice restaurants and scenery. The Deli/Market was not so friendly — I went in to buy cheeses and was chastised by the deli worker because he kept saying what and so I pulled my Covid mask forward and said, “I want a pound of cheese.” He chastised me and I felt angry and I proceeded to leave and say profanities as I left the market. The deli guy was insensitive and had no manners - his rude behavior was upsetting. I am vaccinated and quite honestly don’t think he handled the situation with grace.

Biking retreat

The property was clean and comfortable. It was close to the bike path and the beach! A refreshing dip in the pool Saturday afternoon was a nice treat! Short bike to breakfast at the lighthouse cafe!

Tranquil

Tranquility, rest, peace. I enjoyed the setting of the area. Access to the beach was perfect walking distance. The apt needed a few updates like microwave and toaster. Other than that it was a great 60th birthday vaca. They even had a special gift waiting for me. I lived it.

Quiet, cozy and clean

Quaint little cottage neighborhood near the lighthouse in Sanibel. The condo was clean, which is important, especially right now. The appliances aren't great, but good enough. Pleasant, short walk to the beach and the staff was responsive.

Colony House on Sanibel Island

We really enjoyed our stay. The property is clean and well-maintained, the unit is very comfortable and nicely appointed, and the staff is exceptionally friendly and efficient. The unit is provided with plenty of towels which can be exchanged for clean ones daily, if needed. The lanai is secluded and quiet, which provides a nice place for reading and sipping coffee or a glass of wine. The unit also comes equipped with nice beach chairs and pool noodles. We especially enjoyed the proximity to the beach and bike trail. The kitchen is very small so cooking dinner required some intricate choreography. If we choose to return to Sanibel we would definitely stay here again, but would be sure to bring a couple of knives for cooking.

Great rental, exactly what we were looking for. Very clean, great service provided. The walk to the beautiful beach is literally 2 minutes and worth it. We loved the screened in porch!

Great place to stay with only one negative. The electric stove burners were all uneven which made it very difficult to cook.
