The apartment had several serious issues that significantly impacted our stay. Most critically, the door lock was faulty — something the host was clearly aware of but never disclosed. Leaving the second set of keys in the interior lock (a common practice) caused us to be locked out after 21:00 in a foreign country. The host immediately recognized the issue, confirming prior knowledge, yet had never warned us. Resolving it required hiring someone for 90, a cost we should not bear given we were never informed of this known defect. The unit fell short of basic standards: air conditioning units had excessive mold — which caused my wife to fall ill for the remainder of the trip — no hand soap was provided, and toilet paper was limited to 2 rolls for the entire stay.We were also woken daily at 8am by extremely loud construction in the unit above — never disclosed prior to booking. Impossible to go back to sleep. Finally, the host called 5 times within 30 minutes on May 5th expecting us to allow access for painters — without any prior notice or agreement. Paying guests should not be expected to accommodate non-emergency maintenance, especially painting that creates fumes. When we didn't answer immediately, she left an urgent voicemail and texts. This felt intrusive and unreasonable.Between the undisclosed lock defect, poor cleanliness, noise, and host conduct, this stay did not reflect what was booked or advertised.
