First time in Puglia

We had an amazing time in Puglia. Ivo’s place was perfect!!! The rooftop was our favorite! I cannot recommend his place more! If you’re looking for an amazing host with a fabulous place in the best location- look no further!!

So close to the Sea.

A lovely property, very clean and well equipt. The manager was on hand for any queries and questions. We arrived in Monopoli earlier than check in, but we were welcomed in. We are two retired couples, we did manage the stairs, but sometimes they were a challenge!

Exceeded expectations

Check in easy and communication was prompt and attentive. Location spectacular! House fully equipped and all amenities in working order and excellent condition. Upstairs patio does not have shade / umbrella so got quite uncomfortable when sun beating down but location and view made it bearable!! 5 star stay.

a beautiful place, in a great location!

San Salvatore house was lovely. There were 3 of us, and the house was perfect. Nice bathrooms, with plenty of hot water, and a roomy kitchen. Beds were comfortable, too. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace and looking out over the ocean, and the town was fascinating, full of good restaurants and wine bars. Ivo was the perfect host, and gave us ideas of restaurants to go to, etc. There is a lot to see in Puglia, and this location was perfect for that. Since the old town is restricted as to vehicles, walking around was pleasant, too. Highly recommend!

Great location

We enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and in a great location. The listing was some what miss leading as each bedroom is on a different level of the house and kitchen and roof top we’re up 3-4 Flights of steps. I was traveling with my elderly family and was unaware of the flights of steps prior to our stay. Listing also stated there was a TV which there was not Finally, the property is inside the walled city and thus you can not drive to it which was not much of a problem and made it a great location and easily walkable

Best travel experience

We LOOOOVED this apartment! The roof deck overlooking the sea was only enhanced by the ancient church bell tower next door! Amazing! We started every morning on the terrace enjoying the peaceful sounds of the sea...we enjoyed evening cocktails on the roof seeing the sunset and the hearing the swallows fly all around. Just walk outside and lay in the sun on the rocks and take a dip in the sea. Conveniently located to everything. The host was very friendly and super helpful. Lots of space on each level. I highly recommend this apartment!! We loved Monopoli

That Rooftop is Bliss!

What a wonderful spot to explore all that is Monopoli and Puglia - so central to the old town, a beautiful swim spot off the rocks just 15 m from your door, and a rooftop with views we will never forget. Clean, and pretty true to the listing, the stairs did not worry us - and Ivo was very helpful as a host with lots of recommendations and suggestions. We had an amazing time exploring towns near and far, the food was delicious - you have to try the pizzas, and the Assissina pasta at Chine - a local speciality! But … if we are honest the mattresses on the beds are hard, and perhaps some new linen is needed (thin sheets and towels)…. That would be our ONLY improvement to staying at San Salvatore. It’s on our list to come back …. Soon!

Wonderful!

We had a wonderful 11 night stay in Monopoli. The apartment is superb and the location is perfect for the sea and eating out. It is great having each bedroom with an ensuite. The kitchen is well equipped. The roof terrace has the most amazing, uninterrupted view and is very comfortable. There is a lot of stairs but in our opinion they are good stairs. We had no problems with them and our daughter, son-in-law and grandson of 17 months joined us for a few days and they had no problems either. Our host kindly let us check in early and leave our luggage until later when we were leaving. The Prosecco and beer were also very much appreciated. Thank you! Overall, we certainly highly recommend this apartment.

Wonderful rooftop views

The house was clean, fresh and well equipped. The roof top view was amazing. We had a very thorough check in with Ivo and his recommendations for places to dine and visit were excellent. A highlight was a visit to St Stefano Lido, a private beach a short journey by bus. The second visit was by taxi, as buses stopped 15 September. All recommended restaurants, which included gluten free, and bars were fantastic. A couple of things to note, the house is a traditional lay out on several floors and the stairs have some tight turns. Worth it for the views of the sea and watching the world go by. If you like a firm bed, then you will be very comfortable. We had a great time at San Salvatore House and would not hesitate to recommend.

We absolutely loved this property. It’s probably the best spot in Monopoli to stay in, and that view is priceless. The balcony has a dining table and comfortable patio set. We are a very picky with the air conditioning and even though we were there during a heat wave (over 40 degrees outside) the indoor temperature remained very comfortable in every room throughout our stay. It had all amenities we needed, except for washing machine, but that was already stated in the description. The owner was very helpful with his recommendations. The apartment is on 5 floors, which could make it difficult for people with mobility issues, but it wasn’t an issue for us. Also there was no television, again not an issue for us, but worth mentioning. We would love to come back and we highly recommend this place!

Salvatore by the Sea

Amazing location right in the heart of the central historic Monopoli. The property worked well for 2 couples with separate bedrooms and en-suites. The view from the terrace over the Adriatic Sea and the sunsets is beautiful. Be aware that this is a traditional apartment with a room on each of 3 floors plus a terrace so there are many steps! The only improvement opportunity is that the kitchen was not as well equipped as we would prefer and there was no shade available on the terrace. However - if eating out is what you like then the location is perfect for many restaurants. The water is literally 15m away and you can swim off the rocks or take a short walk to the nearby beach. The property owner was excellent and gave us lots of information and was responsive to questions.

Perfect location

The apartment is shown as posted. Some people might find the open layout an issue. It was fine for us. The heavy draperies closed off the 2 bed rooms. The air conditioners worked great with the draperies closed. The entrance hall is the ground floor. 2nd floor is a bedroom. 3rd floor is a bedroom. 4th floor is the kitchen. The roof top terrace was fantastic and on the 5th floor It had a table and chairs, a sofa, 2 club chairs and a coffe table. The sea wall to the promenade was in front of us.I would definitely book again. Michele was helpful and sttentive to our request. The place is modern and well kept.

SUPERB

Discovering Puglia one can’t find a better town than Monopoli and in the city this house! Wonderful location, superb view to both the city and the see. It’s in the center, but still very quiet and calm. The terrace is the heaven itself. The rooms are comfortable and the cleanness is maximal. The only problem is that the rooms are not separated with doors, but only with courtains. They are on different floors, so it’s not so bad, but I would suggest to make walls and doors to make it more private. Ivo, the host was amazing!!! He was extremely helpful and kind. We will surely return, because we can’t imagine a better place to discover Puglia from. Absolutely highly recommended! Btw. The beach is about 3 minutes walk and you will always find a place for your car in 10 min walk distance. Greatest experience we’ve ever had. Don’t search other place if you’ve found this!

Great Find

We had a fantastic stay. Check in with Ivo was thorough, he gave us loads of useful recommendations & was on hand throughout via what’s ap. House is clean and generally well equipped. There were a couple of things I thought were missing..chopping board, ice tray, coat hangers (we asked for more & got them next day) & for me the bathroom lacked space/shelves for toiletries. Be careful on the narrow, stone stairs (3 flights), especially the bottom step which isn’t illuminated like the others. 3 of us fell off this step. (Sober !!). Roof terrance with its views is the star of the house (but be mindful it gets too windy for a parasol so very little shade) Location is perfect for access to old town/ shops/ restaurants..Cars are not allowed but a taxi can drop you off near by (an easy 5 minute walk.); Train station & bus stops are around a 20 min walk. We found the tourist information office really helpful with transport & trip suggestions. The only real negative for us was there was building work being done in the house next door which started early. Cant be helped but did force us out more & earlier than we had planned. Overall, I would recommend San Salvatore House.

Beautiful Monopoli

Check in was excellent. Ivo gave us good tips on the area and restaurants. When we did contact him, we always got a quick response. Apartment was clean and well appointed. We were disappointed to see there was no barbecue/parasol/chairs around roof terrace table, and cushion missing, as these are clearly in the promotional blurb. We all felt that these photos should be updated as it did seem that they appeared quite misleading. Also, our friends shower filled very quickly and could’ve overflowed if they weren’t careful. After contacting Ivo he told us the cleaner dealt with this after every guest departure, and we should clean it out ourselves…. It was full up with hair etc, that clearly had been building up for a while, not just from a few days into our stay, which we decided was really unacceptable to ask the guests to do their own DIY. The air con was another issue. It clearly didn’t work, Ivo explained the system, but even having two quite capable men in our party they couldn’t seem to get it to operate. Thankfully it wasn’t too hot so it wasn’t a huge problem. The apartment is in a great location, and very central.

The pictures do not do it justice, great location!

I have used VRBO enough to know when a picture is taken to enhance a view or the size of a room. This is NOT the case here. The pictures do not do this apartment justice. We spent many hours on the terrace, it was lovely. Note that the bedrooms don't have doors, just thick curtains, but this really shouldn't put you off because each bedroom is on its own floor with it's own bathroom. Amazing location that made it easy to get around old-town. Finally, we locked ourselves out of the place, but we were helped with no fuss; don't forget your keys!
