Eric, We are sorry that you were disappointed by your stay at our home. We put a lot of love, effort and care into providing a peaceful place for guests to experience and enjoy the sights, sounds, breezes and views that our unique location provides. As you know, there is a very expansive view from our decks of Devers Bay and the islands beyond. Yes, there is an electric line in the view, but in most lighting situations it is barely visible. We have owned our home for 35 years and there has always been an electric line on the bay side of the house and an electric pole at the far left side of the view. The pole that is now there is a new composite pole that replaced the wooden one that existed previously and which was demolished in Hurricane Irma. Most of Chocolate Hole now has these much sturdier poles which are designed to withstand hurricane force winds. We are also sorry that your experience with the greeter and with your initial entry to and impression of the villa was disappointing. This is the first that we have heard of an unsatisfactory greeting and introduction to our home, and we have let our house manager know of your concern. We have had many guests who have had wonderful visits to French Cap and who have let us know how much they loved our home, its peacefulness, its sounds and its incredible views. We are sorry that we could not please you as well. We do hope that your next visit to St. John will be a more pleasant one for you.
