The location is fantastic, west of the majority of spring break craziness. Just over a mile west of Pier Park. The unit itself is very nice and well equipped. Not so happy with the property management company. I asked about early check in and was told it is strictly 4Pm. No problem. I wait until 4, open the door and am met with garbage bags and cleaning supplies at the front door. The lone house keeper comes downstairs apologizing profusely and says that it was left "very. very, very dirty". I tell her no problem and go sit on the deck out of her way. When she left at 4:45, I came in to unpack. First impression was ok for cleaning, but noticed right away that all of the sofa cushions are stained-not terribly, but still stained. I say this in hopes the owner will read this and realize they should be recovered or at the very least laundered. Real Joy Properties touts sanitizing all surfaces, which doesn't happen. ALL drawer fronts and doors in the kitchen and baths have funk on the fronts of them. The beds are comfortable and the linens nice and clean. The kitchen faucet had dried up funk which I have to assume was old food? Construction going on a couple of door down form 8-5 Thursday and Friday and until about 1 on Saturday. The guys were obviously trying to keep the noise to a minimum which we appreciated, however, it would have been nice to know going in that this was being done. When I contacted the management company, I got an "I'm sorry, do you want me to send the cleaners back out?" First, there was "cleaner(s)" it was one woman working her tail off to try to finish.
Second, No. I don't. I had to wait 45 minutes past check in and then had to do housekeeping myself. Fortunately, I travel for work regularly and have been accustomed to carrying sanitizing wipes with me. I wiped everything that I knew we would touch, down myself.
Overall, I loved the unit, and the location, but will likely not rent from Real Joy again.
