We had a lovely stay for a quick girls weekend. The location was very convenient to new hope/lambertville and the waterfront stay was very relaxing. The deck area was perfect for dining, relaxing and hanging out. The fire pit area was very well set up. The beds were comfortable and everything very clean. Would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at River Retreat! We stayed for a little over two weeks with our baby and had a great experience. The apartment is cute, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable longer stay.The views are absolutely beautiful and our favorite part was sitting out on the porch, relaxing and taking in the scenery (do make sure to keep all the doors closed and there are a lot of flying things) Our host was kind and responsive and was always happy to help with any questions we had throughout our stay.The location is also fantastic. The whole area is so charming, with Stockton, Frenchtown, and New Hope all nearby and plenty to see and do.

Enjoyed the stay. Stuart was a great host. Loved the amenities and being right in the lake. The porch was wonderful in the morning for coffee. So many things to do nearby. The canal path was perfect for a stroll along the river Would definitely stay there again if in the area.

Nice getaway by the Delaware River. Space throughout is ample for a comfortable stay. All anyone could need is provided in the kitchen plus outside grill. Well furnished for a home away from home feel. Clean and ready upon arrival. Walking/bike trail close by. Recommend a nice walk (or drive) to the Bull Island Recreation Area just a mile a way. See if you spot the river otter and den in the canal. Stroll across the pedestrian bridge to the Lumberville General Store for a sweat treat. Try to spot some turtles along the way. Was relatively quiet except for crickets and occasional boater. Could also hear people on the trail across the river as well occasional vehicles. In the distance the only sound you hear of the river is from a wedge dam. Very historical area on both sides of the river. Take some time to learn about it during your stay. Look forward to staying here again.

Coming in from NY, this homestead was a perfect home for lengthy discussions and reflections. The home was emaculate and comfortable. Stewart, the host, was very welcoming and helpful. We will definitely follow up with a return visit.

Loved this Riverside retreat home! Very clean, lots of room, and the kitchen had coffee, cream and sugar. Host was very accommodating and friendly. Absolutely loved the area - such a beautiful and peaceful location with a lovely porch and great view! Very nice additions included a fire pit , swing chair, and ping pong table! Would definitely return and recommend.

Even in the heart of frozen winter the River Retreat proved to be a welcome respite from the world--that includes everything from the private view of the Delaware River, to the nightly sounds of owls. Can't imagine how nice it would be the other seasons!

River Retreat

We had a great stay. Gorgeous view and the place had all the accommodations we could want. Very close to some wonderful restaurants and the walking trail made for a fun afternoon.

Thank you for your review. I’m glad you enjoyed your stay and the beautiful vistas. I agree that the grounds need some attention. I was in Israel visiting my grandchildren when the war broke out. Canceled flights made it impossible to get out of the country until the end of June. I had a lot of catching up to do but have made good progress. I have even been able to get the dock back up. This part of the Delaware is one of the nicest areas of the Country. The beauty is in the natural vistas. There is so much to do and yet doing nothing is blissfully enjoyable.

This property is surrounded by the Delaware River in front, Bulls Island State Park forest area on the left and a lovely hiking/biking path behind. The property is at the end of a private dirt lane. It has two pond areas, one with a waterfall feature. Lots is of sitting areas and fire pits. It’s bucolic and serene.
