Charming Beachfront Cape Cod style home on Sunlight Beach, Useless Bay. We are perfect for extended family and Wedding Parties. Sleeps 10. If your group is larger, talk to us about overflow rentals closeby. Steps to the beach. Gorgeous gardens. High speed fiber. Restaurants, shops & galleries in the quaint historical town of Langley 10 minutes away.

On the edge of a bird sanctuary. Explore a world of sand dollars, crabs, Great Blue Herons and Eagles. Kite surfers on windy days. Walk for a mile when the tide goes out. Prepare for the most stunning photo ops! Kayak the lagoon. Count the birds in the adjacent bird sanctuary.- This end of the road location as it is peaceful, restorative and private.

Breathtaking sunsets and views of the Olympic Mountains, including Mount Rainier. Lovely fire-pit area with plenty of seating. Stroll through the beautifully landscaped gardens which have been on the Whidbey Island Garden tour several years. They include a children's play 'tea' house, a potting shed, and a variety of unusual plant species.

This property comes with a sweet natured pet cat named Nubbins. She needs to be fed while you're here - but uses a pet door to come and go to her 'outdoor' litter box.

- Child Friendly. Sand, driftwood and beach promise hours of fun. We have lots of sand toys, games & puzzles.

We have a fully equipped kitchen with updated appliances and double ovens. Lots of counter space and and island make group cooking easy.- Inside Dining space for 14, with spectacular views. 3 Kayaks, and a paddle board. Hammock by the beach.- Big Front Yard. Large Gas Weber BB.

- UPSTAIRS MASTER SUITE - has 6 foot soaking tub, double showers and private balcony overlooking the gardens and Useless Bay.

- CONVENIENT LOCATION & ACTIVITIES: 10 minutes from Clinton Ferry. 10 m. to the quaint and historical town of Langley with its own eclectic restaurants, art galleries, and great shopping. 5 minutes to neighborhood grocery. Short distance to Holmes Harbor Golf Course, wine tasting and farmers' markets, as well as the world renowned Mukilteo coffee roasters!

- Perfect for groups: book clubs, family gatherings or reunions, girlfriend getaways, anniversary celebrations and restorative retreats.

This property is available for special events for a fee. We can accommodate rehearsal dinners, small weddings, receptions and other events. Inquire with us for more details.
- A $750 Event Fee will be charged for parties of 16-24, with a 3 night minimum stay October through mid May
- A $1000 Event Fee will be charged for parties 25-70, with a 3 night minimum night stay June-September.

Depending on numbers, There may be a fee for Extra 'facilities' needed, as we have a limited septic system! ($85 for portable toilet)

Beautiful location and clean and comfortable

Fantastic location and views Great communication from host and overall a wonder full experience. The bird life is amazing and very comfortable livening space including some kayaking at high tide.

Perfect weekend

Great location, great house and beautiful garden made this weekend getaway the perfect spot to enjoy some family time. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook up our meals and sitting around the fire pit watching all the bald eagles was a special treat!

Wonderful Accomadations and Location

We had 10 family members over Thanksgiving. The home is spacious, beautiful, and comfortable. The owner thought of every detail and possible need of the client. The beach was beautiful and we could watch Parasailing from the windows. Lots of birds. We will certainly consider renting the home again.

Fantastic Beach Home

The property was more than advertised. The house was located right on the beach with beautiful gardens front back. There was also a well-manicured lawn on the front that as perfect place for both kids and adults to play. The house itself was nicely furnished and had lots of windows providing great views of the beach. The kitchen was well stocked and to top it all off, the property owned provided a welcoming pie and bottle of wine. Highly recommend.

Beach Front Haven

We stayed at Heron Crossing in late September. We absolutely love Whidby Island, and what made this trip so perfect was the wonderful home we rented!! There were so many positives about this house, the location was at the end of a dead end road, the ocean at our doorstep, the grounds that were beautifully manicured and best of all the tastefully decorated interior that was so cozy. We loved each and every room in the house!! We have stayed in many Vrbo's over the years both internationally and in the US. This home was definitely one of our favorites. Best rental ever!

This is a wonderful, spacious, fully equipped house with beautiful grounds and lovely furnishings. One of the things I loved most was the layout - there were several areas, both inside and out, where we could gather as a group as well as a number of places people could go if they wanted to read by themselves or be alone. The kitchen is laid out so that three of us could prepare a meal together and not get in each other’s way and people who wanted to be outside could be on the deck, around the fire pit or in the tea house/playhouse if they were small enough! Crystal was great to work with - she’s warm, welcoming, left clear, detailed instructions and responded immediately on the few occasions I had questions. This rental experience was superb in every respect.

Crystal’s house is a sanctuary!

We loved staying there and celebrating our wedding with our close family. It’s on the end of a very quiet street. Bald eagles, otters, finches, crows, bunnies, herons were a delight to see! Everything in the house has been tastefully decorated and it has such a “homey” feel to it. 100% would stay here again! Crystal is a fantastic host, we really appreciated how accommodating she was, even helping us coordinate with our chef to make sure they had everything needed for our celebration.

Nature Lover's Paradise!

Our family of five stayed for the second time in this lovely, peaceful home. The beds are so comfortable and have wonderful bedding. The kitchen is fully stocked with basic needs as well as a plethora of spices. Communication with the owner is excellent and we were even treated to some fresh crab and a recommendation for an outing to the Bayview Nursery, which was awesome! Highly recommend! Will definitely stay again for a third time!

Beautiful Oasis

What a stunning location and home! From the time I requested to book the experience was top notch. When we arrived on property it was far beyond our expectations. Decorated to a tee, comfy beds and amazing views from every room. We celebrated Thanksgiving there and the kitchen was very well appointed with everything that we needed. It was perfection and we WILL be back very soon!

Island Paradise

This is the perfect home for a multi-generational family getaway. There was plenty of space for everyone to enjoy separate or joined activities, to prepare meals together, to decompress and enjoy. We loved viewing the wildlife out on the beach or from the large windows all over the house. Everything one would possibly need was provided, including very comfortable beds and linens. Will definitely book this again!

Perfect in every way.

Our family was in Whidbey for a family wedding and stayed 5 days. We have rented houses many times in the past and this house was by far the best ever! The location is perfect! Everything we needed was there. Beautiful views! Crystal is the best host we’ve ever had and she communicated with us throughout our stay and she was in Slovenia! Thank you Crystal!

Perfect wedding on the Bay

My now husband and I booked this property for our wedding and it exceeded all of our expectations! We enjoyed having our close friends come stay with us before the wedding and had the luxury of having fun setting up and getting ready for the big day in such a beautiful, comfortable and well stocked home. Crystal was so helpful and responsive. The big day was picturesque and I didn’t have to do nearly as much decor because look at the stunning view. Again, the house was well stocked for those last minute needs that arose. The kids at the wedding played in the tea house and on the beach We had a bonfire at the end of the night and took it in. There were rooms and bathrooms for everyone to get ready comfortably. In the days afterward we enjoyed the suite, a gorgeous view off the private balcony, the soaking tub and walking on the beach. We admired the bright moon each night we were there and the gorgeous summer weather helped our stay too! This property is special. The house is so charming and each room has well curated decor. You will love your stay here and/or you will having an amazing event that will wow your guests here!!! All of my guests were so impressed.

Simply Beautiful!

Probably the best rental we have ever stayed at - the location and views were GORGEOUS! The house is so so comfortable and the kitchen so well supplied that you actually won’t believe it’s a rental. My elderly parents had a spacious room on the main floor, our kids played cards at the big kitchen table into the night- just a superb place. Crystal was so accommodating and helped went above and beyond with our boat inquiries. We hope we will have a chance to return.

Amazing stay on Sunlight Beach

This was our second time renting at Heron’s Crossing - we love it here! The house has everything you could want from a fully stocked kitchen, to puzzles and games for all ages, to kayaks, paddle boards, life jackets, and lawn games. All the bedrooms are beautiful! The yard and gardens are amazing and the views are out of this world. The kids had so much fun kayaking and paddle boarding on their own this time. We can’t wait to come back!

Visit for our son’s wedding on the Island

This property (both the grounds and house) is outstanding! We had an absolutely fantastic experience staying in this house for 5 days. The kitchen is so well stocked - just like my own! The house is spacious with beautiful beds and linen. The owner is so friendly and was so helpful in providing information about caterers and how to set up for a planned rehearsal dinner at the house etc. We had lovely folding tables in addition to patio tables and numerous chairs for our use, and so we were easily able to host an absolutely stunning rehearsal dinner outside!! I can’t say enough about how wonderful our experience was in the house. We felt right at home immediately and lacked for nothing! Thank you, thank you, thank you to the wonderful home owner for allowing us the use of this house for our island visit for our son’s wedding!

Wonderful place to stay on the water, especially with kids

This is a large house that is in excellent condition and has everything you could possibly need. For children it is great. There is a fairly large lawn where we played many games and of course there is the bay. This particular property is on a smaller bay of the much larger Useless Bay which has a 'stream' running through it at low tide which is absolutely great for the kids to use the kayaks and SUPs which are supplied. Wonderful trip.
