We had a great stay in Rome. The appartment is nice , well placed and well equipped. Very close to the Vatican and many places to see. To eat and drink, there are a lot of restaurants and bar close to the appartment.

Beautiful apartment in Trastevere

Chiara was a wonderful host who was very accommodating and friendly. Her apartment is beautiful overlooking the Tiber river. Located in Trastevere near the hip neighborhood night life. Easy walking distance to the Vatican (10 min) and the coliseum (35 min). Highly recommend!

Had a great stay!

Great location, clean, had everything we needed. Only issue was the drains. They were slow and got clogged. But we realize this is an old property and it happens. Also noise from outside on weekends. But this goes along with the great location.

Roma

The property was very nice , clean and well kept. The 78 stairs to the 4th floor was difficult for us being in our late 60’s there was no elevator. It is a very vibrant district in Rome but one that is not the cleanest . It is centrally located and easy to get to many sites by walking.

Thanks David, for the positive review. In the hope of welcoming you soon, I underline two aspects. To enjoy the wonderful view it is necessary in the houses of Trastevere to climb some steps, fortunately in this one they are quite comfortable. There are no houses with elevators around here. As for the cleaning of the neighborhood, unfortunately in those days they were doing some work on the street. I would love to see you again soon. A greeting. Chiara

Wonderful Experience

The apartment is located in the eclectic Trasteverre region where Romans choosing to eat are in abundance. Roman cuisine is unique and at it’s best in this area. Chiara was most helpful and made us feel very much at home. If stairs are a problem then maybe this apartment is not for you. However, my wife is 70, I am 79 and we managed the daily exercise well. The view of the Tiber is beautiful and the rooftop vista is stunning. We had a lovely time and thoroughly recommend this place as a base for visiting Rome.

Very imaginatively revisioned apartment. Sleeping area is a "loft", and bathroom is a little small, but kitchen is adequately equipped for making meals. The host (Chiara) was very kind, helpful with information re: sites in Rome, and took us up a spiral stair to enjoy roof top views! The apartment was presented very clean, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to other travelers. Be aware that it is a 3rd floor unit. Overall impression very favorable

Hi David, thanks for the positive feedback. The apartment is a loft, as can be seen from the description, but each space is well separated, and the bathroom is exactly as seen in the photos. It is functional, comfortable and fully equipped. I hope to see you again soon, a greeting, Chiara

81 stairs up. Need I say more?

Great location, clean, nice decor. Chiara was so sweet. Parking is $4 EUR/day. We couldn't move the car fearing that nothing left upon return. No coffee, sugar, expresso machine. I purchased some and left it for the apartment. 81 stairs to climb which left us tired and wet once acheived. Shower drain clogged, which she offered to send someone over. This was our fifth and last VRBO rental on our two week trip to Italy. Glad we saw the sights etc but not a fan of the city. Not sure why she didn't include the $7 EUR/day tax in the fees and had us pay cash ? Oh well. Good value and stay.

Dear guest many thanks for your observations. As featured in the ad online, the flat is placed at third floor inside an ancient and historic building not equipped with elevator.About car I suppose my English wasn't enough good to explain at your arrival that is possible to park easily in the street around my place because 'Trastevere' is a limited traffic zone to preserve the area from the intensive car traffic. that means is not possible to come inside the area(if you are not a resident )starting from 6.00am till 10 in the morning and in the weekend at night (from 10 pm to 3 am) . About sugar and coffee the cleaning company usually take away all the food from the apartment if it is yet open. You can find olive oil salt and tea (close bags) sugar and Moka for coffee are in the kitchen closet.I'm wondering you didn't find it. I'm always ready to be helpful, just ask me please to give me the opportunity to intervene ( the shower drain now is ok thank you for your warning ). I have to ask all my guests the amount for city tax cash on arrival as show on thHi e Homeaway balance. That is a municipality fee not for me. Thank you for your review.

Amazing apartment on the outskirts of Trastevere, Rome

What a find! This apartment was perfect for my husband and my trip to Rome. Right outside of the archway into the commercial heart of Trastevere, it was easy to walk to restaurants, but the nightlife was out of earshot. It was also right across the Tiber from a lovely neighborhood with cafes, restaurants, wine bars, etc., which were mainly frequented by locals rather than tourists. The apt was in walking distance from all the major sites, from the Vatican to the Ancient Roman ruins, and there are major bus lines running from the main road right near by. My only caution would be that the steps up to the loft might not be safe for someone with a significant mobility impairment or someone who might become significantly intoxicated on a night out. That said, the loft is comfortable and spacious! Finally, Chiara, the host is attentive and thoughtful; we were even able to drop off our bags and use the bathroom when we got on the plane, before the apt was ready for us to move into. In all, this apt is a gem!!!

Wonderful spot, wonderful hostess

We absolutely loved staying here. While the apartment is on the top floor, well not the top floor-that's the wonderful roof deck, the trek up the stairs is worth every step. The view over the Tevere is wonderful...and does make the place a bit noisy if you keep the windows open as we did. But close them and it's reasonably quiet. If you leave them open as we did, earplugs work woners and the fresh air flows. It was April so it was cool, but in warmer months, there is air conditioning to cool you down. The apartment is perfect for a couple with a loft that has the most comfortable memory foam bed . Seriously, the best bed we've ever slept in/on. Everything you need is here, from a sweet kitchen to a fabulous shower with all the hot water you could use. The only down side we could see is that the floor has a few step up/down in unexpected places, so tread carefully until you get the lay of the land and you'll be fine. Alll in all a great place and the hostesss Chiara is wonderfully helpful. Everything was handled perfectly and promptly, from check in to check out. We recommend it highly

I thank you for your nice review and answer you about noise just to clarify this topic. As you know I lived in that house for so many years and I know that sometimes can be a little bit of traffic along the LungoTevere (street near the river), the same you would find in any capital city. I forgot to advise you to just open the windows facing toward the side road at these times. The LungoTevere is one of main roads connecting to Rome from North to South, and one of the most beautiful, but even though we are nearly 4 million people (all with the car!) there are fortunately many times during the year and days when there is no traffic and it is also very well with all windows open. The house is on a high floor so noise it comes less than homes on the lower floors. Moreover the other houses in Trastevere have the big problem of the noise bars all night, instead my house does not have bars under the house or in the immediate vicinity, so the night is quiet. I greet you with affection and I hope to host you again at my home. Chiara

Great location to experience all Rome has to offer!

We stayed in this VRBO x 4 days/nights and it was in a great location close to Trastevere and about 20 minutes walking distance from the Vatican, Castel Sant'Angelo, Piazza Navona and many other attractions. The apartment was in an old building with lots of character. It was on the 5th floor (81 stairs up, no elevator). We had good communication with Chiara through the VRBO site and we were able to drop our luggage off and check in earlier than expected, which was very much appreciated. She also arranged an airport shuttle for us on the last morning at our request, which was very helpful since our Italian isn't the best and that makes communication challenging at times. As for the apartment, the kitchen was well appointed, there was an AC unit, washing machine (we dried our clothes on the clothesline on the rooftop terrace with clothespins provided), and the bed in the loft was very comfortable. There are several grocery stores (Tigre, Conad) within walking distance. We enjoyed opening up the living room doors in the morning and listening to the city and had a nice view of the Tiber River. We took a walk every night into the heart of Trastevere to enjoy people watching and the night life. We also used the rooftop terrace most nights to enjoy some wine and the view of Rome. We felt safe at all times. We would definitely stay here again when we are back in Roma! Molto Grazie!

Location, location

Once you stop complaining about the stairs which are actually good for you it is a perfect location. Just far enough out of the main Trastevere noise but close enough to partake. Apartment has everything you need and is very clean and quite nicely done. Bar(caffe) on the corner is great and simple osteria right below is an easy meal and good. Rome is a walking city and while this apartment will get you everywhere with a good map or smart phone it’s a great choice to get away from the “busy”.
