Sunset cottage Paekākāriki - sand, sea and sunsets

SUNSET SPECIAL - During July and August we're offering guests a 5.00pm checkout on Sundays, so you can make the most of your weekend getaway and spend all day at the beach.

This one-bedroom seaside cottage is directly across the road from Paekakariki Beach and is the perfect location for those who enjoy beach walks, swims and surfing.

The Escarpment track (Te Araroa trail), Whareroa Farm, surf club, village cafes and artist workshops are all close by. The star of the show is the beach view and, with a west-facing aspect, you'll have the opportunity for great sun and incredible sunsets.

The cottage is fully self-contained and has dedicated off-street parking. The owner's residence is on the same site, but both are separate and private.

I'm going to miss the amazing views, beach walks and the sound of the waves. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the cottage and would highly recommend this. The cottage was clean, modern, and costly. Everything you need for a break away and a relax. The host was super nice too.

It was a privilege to stay in such a relaxing bach (Paekakariki has a lot of character and charm!) with an impressive view of Kapiti as well as show-stopper sunsets. We swam, walked, visited the market, ate fresh fish, yarned with one or two locals, and enjoyed relaxing together as a family. Our 2-year-old was enraptured with the beach as well as the multitude of dogs and walkers (and we got to watch the surf life saving club doing their drills in the water). The bach has excellent amenities and everything we needed for a comfortable stay and two good nights’ sleep. Thanks to our hosts for sharing their slice of paradise, and for the complementary milk, tea, coffees, etc. We hope to come again!

Lovely quiet house with gorgeous views. Local cafes were delicious and the area has such a lovely vibe. Hosts had added little touches in the house to make it very comfortable, a lot of thought had gone into making guests comfortable.

Tranquil setting, relaxed weekend.

Had a lovely stay. Really enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the ocean, swimmers and later on the stars. Lovely beach to walk along. Warm and cosy accomodation, couch was super cozy to sleep on.

Excellent place to stay with magnificent sea views and sunsets of Kapiti and the South Island as the weather was perfect.Our accommodation was excellent as advertised by Angela.The carport was a bit tight to get in, but we did manage it.Overall, we had a great time

A stunning location and no drama

Great place, super cosy and comfortable, tip top amenities. Kids loved the beach being so close and biking through the park. The sound of the sea is ever present. Magic!

We had a wonderful weekend away in Paekākāriki, for us it was close to home (Wellington) but felt like we were far away in a whole new place. It proves you don't have to go far at all to experience a get-away. Check-in/Check-out was a breeze, very clear instructions and simple to find. Our absolute must-haves for our weekend away were:A View Comfy Couch(es) to read Good Food This nailed them all! Very clean and tidy, with everything we needed on hand. Not having a tele was so refreshing, and you absolutely don't need one when that view is that stunning. We got to experience the still waters & amazing sunsets, as well as a bit of wind and grumpy surf. Only a 25min walk into the village to get to Finns for dinner, and Beach Road Deli hands down do the best pies that ever roamed this earth! (Creamy Mushroom, 5 Stars)Paraparaumu is less than 15mins away for a drive where there are plenty of activities, shopping and food outlets. If you've got a bike, you're right on the Kapiti Cycle Trail, and very near the Cycle trail along the express way. Prime time. Our fab hosts provided a great book of recommendations and suggestions of activities and info on the local area. We were super lucky to also have a later check out so we could get a coffee and few more chapters in while staring out at the waves, before heading home. Thank you so much for everything, we can't rave enough about our trip and your wonderful bach - very lucky to have found it.
