The large outdoor deck was a highlight for us: comfortable seating, dining table, fire table and fine views of Lake Mitchell facing the undeveloped shore across the lake. Loons and bald eagles were among the wildlife we saw on the lake. We also used the fire pit near the shore, with firewood provided, and the kayaks. There are houses close by on either side: One is nicely screened by lattice work and vegetation, the other with large shrubs, but above the shrubs a large window looks out over the deck. The inside is comfortable, but we wondered why there is no bedside table or lamp between the two beds in the largest bedroom, number 3.We enjoyed hiking the Mitchell State Park trail, about 2.5 miles, and the Cadillac Pathway, about 2 miles. In Cadillac we liked the food and beer at Clam Lake Beer Co. and Raven Social. We found reasonably priced items at the antique/resale shop in the same area. The waterfront area downtown was nice, including a fountain, splash pad and gas fire pit.
