Bear Lake on the shore
Our visit to Raspberry Pointe met our needs and was exactly as described. It’s located right on the shores of Bear Lake with plenty of grass area for our large group of 23 to play games and hang out. The views with the large picture windows were amazing. We loved sitting on the deck enjoying family and the views then heading to the lake for kayaking, boating and playing in the water. The water is very shallow ( up to my knees) for an extended time. This is ideal for young children to play in. We were able to use our kayaks and sups easily. It was more difficult to reach the boat but the sand is soft. The water at Bear Lake is a gorgeous turquoise once out of the shallow bay. Entering the water is a hike, with some rocks and weeds (and butterflies and birds!) but safe for our 77 year old parents. It would be nice for the owners to add planks or more rocks to walk on the three feet of mucky entrance that is common at Bear Lake. There is also a large flock of geese and goslings which means goose droppings. Another side benefit is a great deal of privacy.
The interior is very clean and childproof. We felt comfortable. The beds are comfortable with many bunks. The lower floor is like a large bunkhouse with some privacy sections. It would be nice to have curtains between for more privacy for changing clothes etc. Simple tension rods with a curtain or divider accordion doors could help add privacy. The rooms were exactly as described. We would stay here again and look forward to the next opportunity to do so.
Additional nice touches include access to washer and dryer, plenty of kitchen gadgets including a mixer, waffle makers etc. The owners are very nice and responsive.
