Professionally managed by Gulf Coast Vacation Rentals this unit is perfectly situated just steps from the sparkling Gulf waters and sandy beaches, this charming getaway places you in the heart of one of Sanibel's most beloved communities. Enjoy easy access to world-famous shelling, local restaurants, boutique shopping, and scenic bike trails, all while surrounded by the peaceful tropical atmosphere that makes Colony Inn so special.

Inside, you'll find a light and inviting space designed with comfort in mind. The spacious living area is ideal for relaxing after a day in the sun, with plenty of cozy seating for movie nights, conversations, or simply unwinding in true island style. The kitchen features stainless steel appliances and is fully equipped for preparing everything from beach-day snacks to family meals.

The primary bedroom offers a calming escape with two double-size bed, perfect for restful nights after exploring all that Sanibel Island has to offer. For additional sleeping arrangements there is a queen sleeper sofa.

The place had everything we needed for a weekend with my daughter and granddaughter. The pool was nice and it was only a short walk to the beach. The beach had a bit of seaweed but we drove to another beach our second day. Had a great time in the pool it was very warm

Beautiful Refresh

It was wonderful to finally return since hurricane Ian and see the Island and Colony Inn thriving again. The updated remodel of our unit was very comfortable. The ice machine on site was a very useful amenity and you can't beat this place to have a beautiful beach within walking distance.

Very beautiful.

A very beautiful, quiet location, just a 2-minute walk from the beach. Free loan of parasol and beach chair The pool is very pleasant. The terrace with the mosquito net is very nice. The bedding is very comfortable. Shops and restaurants very close by. Everything was perfect.

Late July Stay

Thank you for allowing us to stay! We had a great time. Excellent location, quick access to the beach and within minutes of a bike ride or quick drive to many places. Unit was clean and as advertised. Our “only” down fall was the hygiene supplies. Online it said there was soap/shampoo/conditioner on hand. We chose to not bring any and when we arrived it was sample size, much smaller than travel size and not enough for a 4 day stay, especially they fact I brought 2 women with me, LOL. Other than that awesome stay, and we got to see sharks and manatees at the Ding Darling Reserve, no gators though!! Which means a follow up trip to see them.

Requested a queen or king bed…assigned a room with two doubles. A beach cart would be helpful…and advertise the availability of beach chairs at the office if not provided in room.

The accomodations were clean and comfortable and the host was prompt with responding to my messages. It was nice being so close to the beach since beach parking is expensive. I chose this rental because it advertised a heated pool. The pool was closed and under construction. Very disappointing.

What a place!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An unforgettable family stay at The Colony Inn, Sanibel We just spent a wonderful time at The Colony Inn with my wife and our two kids, and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we checked in, the staff set the tone. Everyone was warm, helpful, and genuinely happy — always smiling, polite, and friendly, not just with us but with each other too. That team spirit tells you a lot about a place, and it made us feel welcome from the very first minute. The property itself is fantastic. There's a great barbecue area, a lovely pool, and a handy rinse-off station to clean up after the beach. Our unit was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and fully equipped — a complete kitchen with all the appliances and cookware we needed, plus a TV and all the little comforts that make a family trip easy. The location is perfect. It's an easy walk to an ice cream shop, restaurants, and a souvenir store. And the beach — what can I even say. It has to be one of the top three beaches in the entire USA. Calm, crystal-clear water, a spectacular view, and pure tranquility. Absolutely breathtaking. We had an amazing time and can't wait to come back. Highly recommended for families!

The amenities are still under construction and the pool was unavailable. But the worst part was we tried to check in and the codes did not work and it took an hour to rectify the situation. no one was on duty and we arrived at 4:00 pm. Keep[ in mind I was rehabbing from and achilleas tendon injury and walking all over the facility was awfull.

We understand how frustrating this must have been, especially after traveling and arriving at check-in time, and we regret that no one was immediately available to assist you. We are also sorry that the amenities were still under construction and that the pool was unavailable during your stay. We do our best to communicate this in advance, but we understand how disappointing this can be. Most importantly, we truly regret the added discomfort this situation caused you while you were rehabilitating from an Achilles tendon injury. Having to walk around the property under those circumstances is understandably difficult, and we are very sorry that your arrival experience added unnecessary strain at a time when comfort and ease were especially important. Your feedback is taken seriously, and we are reviewing our procedures to ensure smoother check-ins and better on-site support going forward.
