Hummingbird has been made over from head to toe, while preserving the charm of this 1950s bungalow.

New exterior paint accents the black framed windows. Quaint new front porch railing and a new Trex deck out back are a perfect blend of old and new.

The interior has been completely renovated. Everything is new. Tastefully appointed with Kentucky-inspired decor and furnished with comfort in mind, you will find peace and quiet with all the modern amenities at your finger tips... Alexa, wifi, full-size laundry, and more. We also include YouTube TV and Prime Video.

Coming to Louisville for work? Need a combination of a quiet environment but easy access to interchanges? Equipped with reliable, fast internet and more than enough wifi coverage, Hummingbird is perfect for the business traveler, whether staying for a night or a month (discounts available for weekly and monthly guests).

And whether you grab carry-out or make a meal from scratch in the fully-equipped kitchen, you can enjoy peaceful views overlooking the back yard, where there’s a good chance you’ll see some of the neighborhood deer.

We stayed here for one night while attending a show at Louisville Palace. We really enjoyed the stay. The house has been designed and decorated well. It’s fun to look at decor that is a nod back to KY history especially Louisville! Everything was clean, well kept and high tech. Thank you for the making our trip awesome!

Tranquil, quiet setting minutes from great restaurants, entertainment, the interstate and downtown Louisville. The house was nicely appointed with many little extras not listed. The beds were comfortable and plenty of space for guests. The kitchen had everything you needed to cook a nice dinner or just fix a cup of tea. Communications with the hosts were seamless with quick responses. Didn’t have children at this listing, but if you have children, there’s plenty of space for them to run around outside in the front and back yard with no worries of traffic.

We loved our stay at Hummingbird! The house had everything we needed and was in a safe neighborhood. We loved the thoughtful decor of the house. It was located near everything we wanted to do. Communication from the host was spot on. We hope to come back for another stay soon.

Our family enjoyed many years living in this historic neighborhood. I couldn’t believe this cottage was available in VRBO. First, this secluded neighborhood is beautiful 365 days a year. Wildlife, deer and massive trees add to the charm of this property. Matthew has restored this lovely cottage to an efficient and comfortable space. Whether sitting on the porches or walking the neighborhood, The Hummingbird’s interior is well thought out and plenty of space for everyone. Excellent communication and clear instructions!Matthew, please let me know if you’d ever like to sell!!!!!!!

Home away from home

I've stayed at this property probably 6 times now. I will always come back when I am in town for work. I love that the location is close to downtown but also feels miles away in the countryside. Its a beautiful area, close to so many attractions, and the hosts are fantastic. The master bed is the best nights sleep! Cant wait to be back again!

Charming escape

This house was perfect. I love the location. It’s a quiet neighborhood but still convenient to shopping and dining. Everything was updated, clean and well decorated. I highly recommend it.

I've been staying at this property for my work trips and I have to say, it has become my home away from home in Louisville. The property is beautiful, cozy, and close to so many attractions. I also get the best nights sleep every time I stay - the master bed is a 10/10!

Return to Hummingbird

This was our second long-term rental at this wonderful remodeled and updated house tucked away in a beautiful, secluded neighborhood. Everything was just as we left it almost a year ago, thankfully, because that 30-day stay was perfect! The property description is 100% accurate and even downplays the amenities and features, including special decorating touches that truly make it feel like a home away from home. Owner Matthew was again welcoming and super responsive. He has a gift for professional hospitality! We feel like friends, and hope to return again soon when we visit our family in Louisville.
