Spacious 5 bedroom family home sleeps 12 and includes large open floor plan with gas fireplace, full kitchen, large dining space, comfortable huge living room with windows galore overlooking lake superior, and a game room. 2 king beds, 2 queen beds, 2 twin beds and a queen size sleeper/sofa. Includes private office with high speed wireless internet. Enjoy local restaurants and shopping as the home is 5 miles from beautiful downtown Grand Marais, MN. Close to hiking or cross country skiing at nearby Cascade State Park a well as many other scenic locations in beautiful Cook County, MN. Near both snowmobile and ATV trails and many lakes great for fishing. Or stay in and curl up by the fireplace with a good book, watching the birds and the boats go by, or watch the game on our 73" Sony Smart TV. Ample space to turn around in our convenient circular driveway. No matter your interests, you will enjoy our beautiful home and its amazing surroundings.

Great house for a large family gathering, and the setting right on Lake Superior is perfect. We loved the kitchen, great room. The game room was a huge hit and we had many competitive pool matches.

We had a wonderful stay! The rental was very clean, well equipped, and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of room for all 12 of us to spread out and relax. The view was absolutely spectacular and made the stay even more special. We also loved having the outdoor fire pit—it was such a nice bonus for relaxing together in the evenings. We would definitely stay here again!There were a few minor issues that were reported to Carrie but nothing that would hamper a vacation is this beautiful home.

This home is beautiful with plenty of room for our big family ages 1 year (we had a birthday celebration for her there) to 73 years. The view of the Lake is phenomenal. It's easy to get to. There is a nice big kitchen with great dining table for everyone. Basically, everything you need for a wonderful family/group get together. We loved it!

Absolutely beautiful property to stay at! Perfect location, very close to Grand Marais, Gunflint, trails. Great amount of space for a large group. Would stay here again!

Our 2nd time renting this house! Party of 12 which accomodated our group perfect with plenty of room to sleep along with cooking meals for 2 nights. Best views of the lake including beautiful view of the sunrise. Carrie is a great host and very responsive.

Lovely weekend getaway with close friends

This is my second time staying at this property and it’s even better than I remembered. It’s one of the most beautiful cabins I’ve ever stayed in and is right on Lake Superior. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a fun trip to the North Shore!

Perfect Place for a Family Thanksgiving

The home was perfect for our family’s Thanksgiving get-away! This home had everything we needed - well stocked kitchen (lots of plates, silverware, utensils, etc.), nice bedrooms and a large living room for everyone to relax and enjoy the holiday. Hopefully we can come back again soon!

Beautiful views and room for everyone!

This was a great rental with room to spare for everyone, closets galore! Gorgeous views and easy to contact helpful hosts. Convenient for us to run to Lutsen Mountains for daily skiing! Would definitely stay again!

Peaceful Cabin

Loved our stay and the arch. We had a great family vacation. Close to Grand Marais. Near awesome waterfall hikes like Cascade Falls and Temperance. Very clean home with gorgeous views of Lake Superior.

Comfortable stay

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home situated on the shore of Lake Superior. Lots of windows that overlook the lake, comfortable chairs to sit around the fireplace, and spacious bedrooms. We're excited to return next year.

Beautiful location feet from the lake!

The only way to get a better view of the lake is to be in it! This house was stunning and comfortable. The location is fantastic, situated between Grand Marais and Lutsen. We really enjoyed the stay and would love to come back!

Our family moved to Cook County in 1989 after transitioning from Eden Prairie and Shorewood, MN. What are now suburbs was once farmland. However, as these areas became more populated our family dog kennel was becoming more and more restricted, so in the 1980s we bought a one room cabin in Hovland and by 1989 the whole family (2 parents and 3 kids) and our dog teams moved to the North Shore. Fast forward to 2019 and we purchased this home to host our growing family including ten grandchildren. In the fall of 2020, the decision was also made to share our home with you when we are not gathering. So, with Grandpa Dennis as homeowner and his daughter Carrie as manager, and with much help and work ethic from the grandchildren, we have opened our home to you and hope your family will enjoy it as much as ours does.

Our growing family purchased this home for large family gatherings and family reunions. We live in Cook County, we love the community and the outdoor offerings. The large size of the home and the beautiful unique shoreline with the stone arch drew us in. Current code does not allow building as close to the lake as this home is situated. The home right on the water, the beautiful views, and the secluded, private feel of the property are just what our family needs.
