Key Lime Cottage - 1930's 2 bed 2 bath beach cottage - Steps from the Sand

Step back in time with a stay in one of the first cottages built on the beach. Start your morning with a cup of coffee on your private deck watching the waves. Thomas Donuts across the street offers a variety of breakfast pastries and sandwiches, or take advantage of the equipped kitchen and cook your own.

When it's time to head to the beach, you're only a house and a street away from the sand. This section of public beach has no high-rises nearby so you can find your own space to enjoy the soft sand.

For a mid-day break from the sun, the large covered patio is a great place for a lunch without sand in your SANDwiches.

When you're done with the sand, we have an outdoor shower to rinse off and plenty of places to hang up your wet items to dry for the next day. There is also a washer & dryer to ensure you have clean suits and towels. We provide detergent and dryer sheets.

The sunset from the upper deck is a beautiful way to wrap up the day. There is also a table and chairs if you'd like to enjoy your dinner al fresco.

The cottage has two bedrooms, each with a new, comfortable queen bed. The master bedroom has an attached bathroom with stand-up shower. The second bathroom, also with a standup shower, is off the main living space.

We welcome your four-legged doggy family as well. We do ask that for the sake of guests after you, no dogs on the couch or beds please. An additional $150 pet fee will be charged after booking.

We have Electric Vehicle (EV) charging available to our guests with 40 amp service. It is provided at cost billed at checkout. Please let us know that you will need it so it can be activated for your stay.

Notes:

- There is an exterior video surveillance system in use as well as Amazon Alexa for your use for music and information.

It was a very clean house with everything me and my husband needed. A little quirky with one bathroom toilet that didnt work well. Other than that everything was good.

Not worth the price. There are some good and some bad things about this place. Good: location, an ok ocean view from the deck and next to a food place. BAD : Awful Sewage smell, the toilets didn't work properly, one toilet didn't flush the other toilet flushed but took forever to fill back up, Very Small not for 4 people maybe 2, the electric system were complicated just to turn on the lights and the most important light didn't even work( living room light), the chairs were stained and wobbly, the grass was not maintained. This is one of those rental property that you just have to say " well i already rented it so i have to make do with what it is". Will i stay here again...Nope. would i recommend it... Nope. The owner communicated well she sent out a maintenance guy a few times but he couldn't solve any of the problems. We are a glass is half full family so we made do but the worse was the sewage smell just awful.

Great Location!

My sister and I (ages 74 and 62) stayed at Key Lime Cottage for 5 nights in July. The cottage is the perfect size for 2-4 people and we had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. It was an easy walk, with chiars and umbrella, back and forth from the beach. The deck was the perfect spot to drink coffee in the morning and watch the storms roll in in the evening, even in the July heat, there was always a cooling breeze. We can't wait to revisit Key Lime Cottage.

Spectacular

The property is as described. Great views from the balcony and conveniently located to shopping and food. Really, Thomas’s across the street was perfect for quick food with a view as well! The cottage is older but very clean and well kept. We had the best time.

Our stay at this beach house was absolutely charming. Even though it's a house with history, built in 1936, we were pleasantly surprised to find it offered all the modern comforts you'd expect from a contemporary beach home. The decor was beautiful, and everything felt incredibly comfortable, truly inviting relaxation. What we enjoyed most was the tranquility of the place and the gorgeous ocean view. While it's an ideal house for smaller groups (I'd say perfect for 4 people), every corner is well-utilized, and we never felt cramped. Plus, the location is excellent, with everything you need nearby, which made our stay even easier and more pleasant. As for minor improvements, we did notice some dusty surfaces and the showers could have been a bit cleaner upon our arrival. We also missed having a broom to keep the place tidy during our stay. Despite these small details, our overall experience was very positive. We would definitely recommend this house for anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable beach getaway. In fact, we'd absolutely book here again every time we visit the beach, provided it's available! Rating: 4.9/5 stars

A good choice

We enjoyed our experience at Key Lime cottage. The owner, Pamela, was quick to respond to a cold related plumbing issue and in general promptly responded to any inquiry we had. At the last minute we had to extend our stay for a medical issue and were given a fair price for the few extra days.The ocean view was sensational and the donuts at Thomas's didn't suck.

Like going home

The area has been known to me since my youth. Everything about key lime cottage on Laguna beach speaks to me in a way that I love. This trip we had conversations with people familiar with the history of the area. The cottage itself feels like home. I appreciate its order, cleanliness, and all the modern technology. I find myself not wanting to tell too many people, because I never want to lose access due to increased popularity. Sorry, not sorry, for my selfishness. We enjoyed the NAS Blue Angels’ Homecoming Airshow, a return trip on the Sea Screamer, and a glorious beach day. I sure hope to return.

Quaint and amazing view!

This house was quaint but housed all of our needs and then some! Two bathrooms is vert nice, lots of beach toys and chairs in the mud room. What really makes this house is the deck and the incredible views that it allows! Don't miss going next door for biscuits and gravy, kolachees and donuts!

My husband and I love to spend time outdoors, sometimes that's on land camping and hiking, other times it's underwater scuba diving. We live near New Orleans with our two kids and our puppers, a pittie mix named Quinn. While the food at home can't be beat, the water around here is a bit too murky for diving and the shores too muddy. So we escape whenever we can to enjoy the Gulf views.

We found this cottage when looking for a quiet Thanksgiving retreat. The location was amazing - no high rises around, neighborhood atmosphere, cute historic cottage and that view from the deck! Once we arrived, we saw it was for sale and immediately the wheels started turning. I'm a lover of old houses and one of my hobbies is DIY renovations. All I could think of was giving this home the love it needed while enjoying all the location had to offer. By the time we left that weekend, we were certain we would be back.
