Makin' Memories What We Do Best, With Family and Your Tail Wagging Friends.

"Makin' Memories" Bungalow (1340 sq ft) was originally built in 1919 and was an original Mill House, (one level) also known as a Shotgun House. I has had numerous add-ons over the last 110 years. The house has been totally gutted and remodeled with new electric, plumbing, and all of that good stuff! The Battle of Missionary Ridge was fought on this property, located on a 2 block street. I have found bullets, cannon balls, and shot when digging in the flower beds. I even discovered an old tractor petal when it was a farm and cow pastures years ago. My insurance will not cover pit bulls, chows, Rottweilers, or dobermans, or any mixed breeds that have these three. I live across the street and behind my house the gardens are located. It is an old 3 tiered lot with 2 ponds. One pond has goldfish and a Mermaid fountain. Sit and relax and enjoy the birds, views of Downtown and listen to the splash of the water taking your stress far, far away. The sunsets are wonderful as the sun disappears behind Lookout Mountain. It is convenient to the downtown area and all the hospitals. There is a FULLY FENCED IN back yard for your dogs. I am not able to offer military discounts. 2 miles to the Chattanooga Choo Choo. I own most of the neighborhood and still working on it. One lot at a time. It is in transition, but we all know each other. The city of Chattanooga is experiencing rapid redevelopment, economic growth, and what some call "gentrification". This means that if you stay in the city, you are likely to be on a street with a wide variety of properties, ranging from very good condition, to fair, to vacant. In addition, there is great racial, cultural, and economic diversity with city residents. I live across the street and love it here, but it may not be for everyone. I want all guests to consider this prior to booking, so no unfavorable review result.
Please do not ask for a late check out. I respect that my cleaners have lives other than just cleaning my rentals. Feel free to stay another day. Thank you!

Christmas with my family. The kitchen had most of what I needed to cook a full turkey dinner. The living room was comfortable with throw pillows and blankets. We didn't use games provided by the host but used our own. Proximity to Hwy 24 made for some loud truck noises but we brought our white noise machines for sleeping so we barely noticed the traffic. It is a busy highway. Keep that in mind if you are a light sleeper.

Tammy is an exceptional hostess. Everything was clean tidy and decorated beautifully for Christmas. We could not have asked for nicer place to stay. We felt safe and comfy every evening as we returned from our daily outings.I highly reccomend this precious little house.

Tammy was welcoming, as usual. We stayed with my in-laws and revisited some of Chattanooga’s best spots, including Rock City with all the Christmas lights. The home was clean, inviting, and spacious - just as it was this summer.

Absolutely wonderful plqce ro stay! With the fully fenced in backyard, it was pet friendly. Tammy is a great host and provides almost everything to need to cook and have a relaxing time. Very clean and plenty of towels and throw blankets provided. Location is great - very easy to get downtown and around to all the sites. Property is exactly as shown in the Vrbo photos.

What a lovely house. Well decorated, well stocked!The porch was lovely. Although the sound of the highway was more apparent outside, you could never hear it inside.We would suggest sharper chef knives, and a check on the fridge. It was making some interesting sounds. But overall a great stay.

We had a wonderful time at Makin Memories! The house was perfect! Had everything we needed and was so clean and comfortable! We enjoyed sitting outside on the big covered porch, enjoying the beautiful landscape! The location was great! So close to all of the restaurants and activities! Our grandbabies came over to see us and had a blast with the toys! We will definitely be back!!!

We had a great time in this lovely home! It was nice to have our host nearby in case we needed anything. We didn't, because the space was perfect. It was well stocked, clean, and comfortable. We'd definitely stay again if we're back in Chattanooga.

We have stayed in many VRBO type rentals in the past 23 years (since we started traveling with our dogs) and we have never stayed in a property this clean and well-stocked. There were ample towels for everyone, basic kitchen supplies and so much more! The rental was furnished perfectly and the mattress in the master suite was extremely comfortable (our daughter and son-in-law said their mattress was great too). The area is convenient to everything and Tammy is a delightful host. We can’t wait to return when it’s cool and enjoy the porches and the yard. (The outside temp on this trip made it hard to do much outside.) Thanks Tammy!!

Everything was perfect from the time we arrived to check out. The home was very clean, the beds were so comfortable, and the kitchen was fully loaded with all the items you’d need. We truly enjoyed the backyard, all of the toys, and the beautiful garden across the street. We will definitely stay at this location again if we are ever in Chattanooga.

Excellent home and host!

This was an excellent home - clean, spacious, easy access to downtown and surrounding attractions! I got to meet Tammy (host) and you can tell she cares very much about her properties and her guests. Whenever we return, we will definitely try and stay in one of Tammy’s homes.

Love it!!

The home was clean and spacious enough for our girls trip, four adults. The sticky notes were the best home touch. All of us were very impressed with the hosue, owner and loved our getaway. We all plan to plan our stays with Tammy in the future.

Excellent stay!

We decided to visit a new place for Thanksgiving this year and are so glad we stumbled across Ms. Tammy’s home. The house was exceptionally clean, and just like the pictures. The fenced in back yard was an amazing perk for our Cocker Spaniel. We will definitely be returning.

I grew up in Philadelphia, Tn on a small horse farm. I moved to Chattanooga to go to college and have stayed here since. Like kudzu my roots go 6 feet under.

I own the whole block. The other houses are yearly rentals. I have been playing Monopoly in my neighborhood since 1983. There are 3 other short term rentals on this same block, Ridgedale Roost ,Gray Gables, and Kathy's Kottage . The other three are long term rentals.
